My Coaching Philosophy for Aspiring Cricketers
Cricket is played as much in the mind as it is on the field. At Inningstar, we build players who don't just hit the ball but handle pressure with a never-give-up attitude.
My advice to all parents of young athletes. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint. Let's focus on consistent effort and long-term development instead of stressing over small performances.
This is the core belief I instill in my players. When the world tells you to give up, hope whispers in your ear, 'try one more time'. That is the essence of a true sportsperson.
I always tell my players to stop believing in luck and start believing in hard work. The effort you put in at the gym and in the nets is what truly defines your success.
About My Coaching Philosophy
When you join my sessions, don't expect a boring routine. I use unconventional drills, like hitting off broken tiles or intense 30-day bowling challenges, because real matches aren't played on perfectly manicured surfaces. We focus on your mental game—confidence, handling failure, and building a 360-degree approach to every delivery. It is about preparing you for the reality of the game, not just theory.
The Inningstar Approach: Process Over Results
Many parents walk onto the ground asking about runs and wickets. I ask about the process. Cricket is a long journey, and focusing on small, short-term performance numbers at a young age can kill a player's confidence. We look at the 15-year roadmap, not just tomorrow's match. My training philosophy is built on three pillars:
- Mental Toughness: I simulate pressure. We put kids in match-like scenarios so when they face a real bowler in a tournament, their head stays calm. When the world says 'give up', we say 'try one more time'.
- Technical Analysis: We don't guess; we analyze. Using smartphone video recording, we break down your strokes and grips on the spot. If your backlift is wrong, we fix it with biomechanical adjustments, not just generic advice.
- Hard Work Beats Luck: There are no shortcuts. Whether it is our strength and conditioning gym sessions or manual throwdown drills with leather balls, everything is designed to build the physical grit required for modern cricket.
