Advanced Bite Work & Protection Training
I build confident, reliable protection dogs through rigorous testing and precision control. My training prepares your dog for real-world scenarios while ensuring absolute obedience.
Here I am working as a decoy in a PSA Level 2 scenario with Jade, a Dutch Shepherd. This tests the dog's ability to engage a threat, handle pressure, and respond to the handler's commands from a distance.
Protection isn't just for open fields. This is Diesel, a working German Shepherd, training in a tight indoor space to prepare for home or office protection scenarios.
This is a courage test with Rocky, a Belgian Malinois. The goal is to build the dog's fighting drive and confidence, teaching it to push through pressure from the decoy.
Night training is essential for real-world readiness. Here, I'm working with Jade the Dutch Shepherd on a tricep bite, ensuring a strong and committed grip even in low-light conditions.
This session with Alfa, a working shepherd, focuses on bite building and conditioning to loud noises like gunshots. A protection dog must remain stable and focused, not fearful.
The 'hold and bark' is a critical skill. Here, Diesel the German Shepherd has cornered a threat and is commanded to hold his position and bark, alerting the handler without escalating the situation unless necessary.
This video shows a Belgian Malinois practicing a leg bite during a night session. Training for different bite targets makes the dog more versatile and effective in a real protection scenario.
Working with a powerful Dutch Shepherd to ensure a full, calm grip on the bite sleeve. The handler's control and my work as a decoy help build the dog's confidence.
About Advanced Bite Work & Protection
A protection dog is only as good as its control. When I step into the full bite suit as a decoy, I’m not just teaching your dog to bite; I’m testing their nerve, grip mechanics, and, most importantly, their ability to release instantly on your command. We practice in real-world environments, from quiet lawns to high-pressure, low-light settings, so your dog learns to discern a real threat from a daily distraction.
Protection training is often misunderstood. It is not about creating an aggressive dog, but about building a stable, confident partner that listens under pressure. My approach is grounded in the Protection Sports Association (PSA) standards, which demand the highest level of obedience.
We start by building the foundation of prey drive and grip mechanics. Whether it is a leg bite, tricep engagement, or civil agitation, the goal is always precision. I personally act as the decoy in the bite suit, putting myself in the scenario to ensure your dog is facing real-world pressure safely.
What matters most to me is the 'Out' command. An uncontrollable dog is a danger, not a protector. That is why we drill the release command until it is reflexive. We train in various locations, including your home, to simulate reality. We work on scenario-based training, ensuring your dog remains neutral in public and only engages when necessary or commanded. This is practical, rigorous training that prepares your family pet to guard your home with intelligence and unwavering focus.
