About The Journey & The Vibe
Whether I am performing a solo acoustic set at a cafe in Dubai or leading a full band at a club in Delhi, my priority is the energy of the room. I don’t follow a static setlist; I read the crowd, shifting between soulful Sufi tracks and high-tempo Bollywood hits to ensure the music always matches the mood of your evening.
At the heart of every performance is a simple goal: to create a 'mehfil'—a space where music connects us. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of playing everywhere from the cozy Studio Cafe in Dubai to energetic spots like Revel Haus. My process starts long before I step on stage. It begins with understanding the venue's pulse. Is it a brunch where people want low-volume ballads, or a Saturday night where the crowd needs upbeat Punjabi pop and Sufi rock? I adapt accordingly.
For acoustic sessions, it is just me and my guitar, focusing on the lyrics and the stories behind the songs. When the night turns electric, I bring in the full band—drums, bass, and keys—to turn the room into a live concert experience. I always perform a soundcheck to ensure the technical setup is right for the room, whether we are utilizing a full club PA or a minimal acoustic mixer. My music is my life, a journey that started with the blessings of my Ustad, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and continues today wherever the next stage takes me.
