About Behind the Console
I do not use pre-set playlists. Every transition you see in these photos happens in real-time because I need to feel the room to decide what drops next. Whether it is a 90s Bollywood throwback or a driving techno beat, my console is simply the bridge between what the crowd is feeling and what they need to hear to keep the energy peaking.
The Science of the Vibe
People often see the party and the crowd, but the real work happens in the quiet moments before the music hits. Being behind the console is about more than just playing tracks; it is about reading the room. I use a Pioneer NXS2 setup because it gives me the reliability I need to mix live, whether I am handling a smooth transition from Punjabi pop to Afro house or dropping a bass-heavy remix to change the energy of the room entirely.
Why Live Mixing Matters
I never rely on pre-planned sets. Each venue, from farmhouse weddings in Delhi NCR to palace parties in Jaipur, has a different pulse. If I see the older generation enjoying retro Bollywood, I weave that in before shifting gears for the younger crowd. My job is to ensure the energy stays consistent, even when the musical genres change. When things need an extra boost, I bring in live percussionists for a jugalbandi that adds a raw, organic layer to the digital sound.
My Approach to Performance
- Tech Stack: I perform on a MacBook Pro combined with a Pioneer DJ console to ensure club-standard sound quality.
