I do not just play a pre-mixed playlist. When I take the decks for a sundowner, I am reading the room in real-time, starting with deep, laid-back tracks and slowly ramping up the intensity as the sky changes. Whether it is an intimate rooftop gathering or a packed lounge, I handle the flow so you are not left with awkward silences or a sudden drop in energy.
Getting the right vibe for a rooftop or sundowner gig is all about timing. It is a delicate balance. You want tracks that complement the sunset, not compete with it. My sets start with melodic house, chill Afro House, or light Latin beats, creating a backdrop where people can still hold a conversation while enjoying their cocktails. As the daylight fades and the city lights turn on, I pivot to high-energy Tech House and groovy classics.
I have spent years behind the decks at venues like Kaze, Pangeo, and the Conrad in Bangalore. Each of these spots has a unique sound signature, and I adjust my EQ and selection to fit the space. I bring my own professional controller, so even if the venue’s house system is basic, we keep the sound quality crisp. I am also big on my custom edits, which means you will hear familiar tracks flipped in ways that keep the dance floor guessing.
