From foundational hip-hop drills to high-energy freestyle sessions, my workshops are about building real technique. Whether you're a beginner or prepping for a battle, we focus on control, musicality, and having a great time.

A look into my hip-hop foundation and freestyle workshop at Art Tribe. I'm explaining a concept to the students before we get into the drills. It's important to understand the why behind the moves.

This was a successful choreography workshop with a great turnout. You can see dancers of all ages and levels learning together. We always end with a group photo to celebrate.

A candid shot from my dance workshop at Bangalore Institute of Technology. The vibe was amazing, and it was great to see so many students passionate about dance.

Another moment from the BIT workshop. I always take time to connect with the students, answer questions, and make sure everyone feels included in the session.

Here I am demonstrating a move during the workshop at BIT. My goal is to break things down so that even absolute beginners can follow along and feel successful.

I believe in always being a student. Here I am learning from my anna, Navalarasan, during his workshop. His lessons on wordplay and storytelling in dance were incredible.

A shot from a training session at IIITB. Here, I'm working on floorwork technique. I often get invited to train with college dance clubs to help them level up.

More from the IIITB training session. We break down every move step by step to ensure the foundation is strong. It's all about practice and patience.

Practicing foundational hip-hop stances and grooves in front of the mirror at IIITB. Repetition is key to building muscle memory and clean technique.

A moment of instruction during the IIITB dance club training. We work on posture, balance, and the core principles of hip-hop movement.

About Workshops & Dance Camps

If you’re joining one of my sessions, don't worry about being 'perfect.' We spend the first 30 minutes of every workshop on 'Battle Ready' conditioning and foundational drills—things like spine articulation and balance—before we even touch choreography. My goal is to make sure your movement feels controlled and confident, not just copied from a video.

Building Your Foundation

Whether you book a single-day intensive or join a 3-day dance camp, my focus is the same: the basics. We don't just learn a routine; we learn how to move. In my workshops, we break down essential hip-hop foundation moves into actionable drills. If your footwork is messy or you feel off-balance during a freestyle, we fix that step-by-step. I teach you how to feel the music, use your weight, and build the muscle memory required for cleaner, more powerful movement.

Workshop Formats

  • Single-Day Intensives: Perfect if you want a deep dive into specific skills like freestyle techniques or a high-energy choreography routine. These usually run for 2 hours and include a filmed showcase so you can see your progress.
  • 3-Day Dance Skills Camps: This is the full experience. We cover hip-hop foundations, battle-ready freestyle, and even dabble in other styles. It's about immersion, 1-on-1 feedback, and networking with other dancers in Namma Bengaluru.
  • Institutional Workshops: I frequently team up with college dance clubs (like BIT or IIITB) to help them level up. I can travel to your campus to judge battles or lead group sessions designed for 30+ participants, adjusted for your group's skill level.

Why Join?

Dance is a community. In my classes, we mess up, we laugh, and we support each other. Whether you're an absolute beginner who has never stepped into a studio or an experienced dancer looking to refine your technique for a battle, there is a place for you here. I’m just here to share what I’ve learned from my own crew, the Bangalore Hustlers, and my teachers.

I’m Hemanth, but the community calls me HE-Mantis. I started my workshops because I believe hip-hop is a culture you live, not just a set of steps you learn. I’m here to help you get the basics right, find your unique groove, and build a dance family of your own.
