About this collection

Knowing the theory is one thing, but making a rose bun stay perfectly or fixing a maang tikka (head ornament) on a client with a front cut is where the real work happens. These aren't just tricks, they are the specific, practical hacks I use every day to ensure every hairstyle is secure and picture-perfect.

Success in hairstyling comes down to the details that aren't usually shown in a final photo. Whether you are a beginner or an artist looking to upskill, these techniques form the foundation of professional-grade work.

The Foundation

Before you start styling, you must build a secure base. In my academy, we focus heavily on creating a strong anchor using donut nets and precise backcombing. If your base is weak, the entire style will collapse by the end of an event. I show you how to 'stitch' your base so it stays firm, regardless of hair texture or volume.

Bridal Essentials

Fixing traditional accessories is often where artists struggle. I teach my students exactly how to secure chavli (hair extensions) and kuchu (tassels) so they do not fall out during a Muhurtham or reception. You will also find tutorials here on handling difficult front cuts to ensure a clean maang tikka placement, a common challenge in bridal work.

Modern & Traditional Techniques

  • Rose Buns & Braids: How to pull petals and lock them so the shape remains sharp.
  • Tools of the Trade: A breakdown of when to use a wax stick versus a wax spray, and how different curling tongs create varying textures, from soft beach waves to deep, trendy curls.
  • Quick Fixes: How to use lace in a three-strand braid or create a bow using real hair for a trendy reception look.

Everything I share here, I teach in my hands-on courses. Practice is everything, and my goal is for you to eventually look at your work and say, 'Nanage idu baruttide' (I can do this).
