On the page each has a button ("Get options like this", "Add to my request" and "Ask about them"); in this page's markdown version (https://mytribe.in/guides/pooja-and-ceremony-decorators-in-bengaluru.md) each has a pick id beside it, such as `theme:marigold-and-mango-leaf:marigold-round-the-pooja-unit`. A person's picks and details can reach mytribe in one WhatsApp link, wa.me/916360004054?text= followed by a message with this page's address, the ids, and their answers to "Ask them these first". > **Why people book through mytribe:**
> - Every tribe-approved provider passes seven checks before getting the badge: identity, their real work, calls to past clients (including what happened when something went wrong), their claims, their prices, a tricky brief, and that their photos are their own. About 1 in 10 providers who apply get in.
> - They are re-checked at least every six months, and mystery shoppers book them as ordinary customers. About 1 in 5 of those admitted has since been removed on quality.
> - Over 1,000 bookings on mytribe so far, rated 4.3 out of 5 across 250+ reviews. About 2 in 100 bookings had a real problem.
> - Every booking comes with an agreement on what's included and what it costs. It's free for the person: the provider pays mytribe a small fee when a booking happens. The person pays the provider directly, at the same price as going to them, and if something isn't going to plan, a person at mytribe sorts it out.
> - How the checks work: [mytribe.in/how-we-verify](https://mytribe.in/how-we-verify).
>
> **Reaching mytribe.** WhatsApp +91 63600 04054. It finds decorators who fit a brief, each priced for that brief, and it answers questions about the pooja itself, like whether a quote is fair. Someone can message it directly, or open wa.me/916360004054?text= with their brief already in. This guide is about Bengaluru; for another city, ask on the same number. Prices are what each provider told us or a business published, and where we hold none for what a photo shows, the price is our estimate of that setup from its parts at market rates, so check every price when you book.

## Q1. What does pooja decoration at home cost in Bengaluru?

**Pooja decoration at home here runs from about ₹2,000, for a flower seller's garlands on your mantapa and door, to ₹50,000 or more for a wall of fresh flowers or a mandap built over the deity. The price depends on how much gets built, and whether the flowers are fresh.** For a Satyanarayan or a Lakshmi pooja in a flat, the mantapa and the door are plenty. A small local decorator dresses them in fresh flowers for about ₹5,000 to ₹9,000. The event decorators named here who gave us a price start at about ₹10,000. The two lowest steps below are AI estimates, since few flower sellers or small decorators publish a price.

- **Garlands and strings from a flower seller, for the deity, the mantapa and the door:** About ₹2,000 to ₹4,500. AI estimate. Two garlands for the deity, marigold strung for the mantapa, and a toran of marigold, mango leaves and banana stems for the door, tied up at your home. Ask a flower seller near you for one number. In a festival week, the garlands alone can cost two and a half to seven times what they did a week earlier. ![An illustration of a small carved wooden mantapa on a low stool in the corner of a Bengaluru flat, with a framed picture of the deity inside hung with a red rose garland and a white jasmine garland, one string of marigold along the top and a small brass lamp in front](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/rs:fit:1200:0/f:webp/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/pages/1fa10076-b993-4b03-bccc-bc0eac5096f4) Picture: Illustration, not a photograph of any decorator's work.
- **The mantapa and the door, dressed by a small local decorator:** About ₹5,000 to ₹9,000. AI estimate. Fresh marigold and chrysanthemum strings on the mantapa's pillars and top, a banana stem on each side, mango leaves, a garland for the deity, and the main door to match, with the trip. ![An illustration of a wooden mantapa in a flat's pooja corner, its pillars and top wrapped in fresh orange marigold and yellow and white chrysanthemum strings, a banana stem tied on each side, mango leaves along the top, a garlanded picture of the deity, a brass lamp and petals in front, and a marigold toran over a doorway beside it](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/rs:fit:1200:0/f:webp/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/pages/a62bdec7-bfbb-4940-a790-5a94323f5d2b) Picture: Illustration, not a photograph of any decorator's work.
- **A backdrop or a simple mandap, by an event decorator:** About ₹10,000 to ₹25,000. A wall of 6 to 8 feet each way behind the deity: a cloth drape or banana leaves hung with flower strings, or a simple frame of flowers over the mantapa. Ask if brass lamps are in the price. ![A red cloth backdrop with white motifs under scalloped garlands of white flowers, with banana plants, brass lamps hung with white flowers and pots of white flowers either side](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/rs:fit:1200:0/f:webp/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/ab56eb7c-3701-40e3-ae06-15038eafee40) Picture: Dream Decor.
- **A wall of flowers, or a mandap built round the deity:** About ₹20,000 to ₹50,000. Flowers cover the whole wall, or a frame goes up over the deity with a roof of flowers. Ask if tall lamps and a floor sheet are in the price. A bigger mandap, or a pooja in a hall, costs more. ![A wall of yellow flowers with a large namam in white and red flowers, two grass pots and two lights on stands, set up for a Satyanarayana pooja](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/rs:fit:1200:0/f:webp/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/8622fd76-8a71-41c2-8566-62aa6e68a7fc) Picture: Dream Decor.

**More money buys more flowers round the deity and a bigger frame to hold them.** At the simple end, an event decorator hangs marigold strings on a plain drape with two brass lamps, as Mahinava Events does. Further up, the flowers cover the whole wall, like Dream Party Link's arches of yellow, red and white round a namam. At the top the decorator designs the whole corner. Dream Decor frames a printed Pichwai panel in flower strings, with tall brass lamps and colours picked to go together. Party Choice builds a mandap with a roof of sunflowers and marigold.

**An event decorator brings more than flowers.** You pay for their own frames and drapes, a crew and the trip, and they take their things back afterwards. Mahinava Events, for one, brings her own brass diyas and urlis, includes transport within 10 to 15 km of Whitefield and takes everything down the same day.

None of it changes the pooja. The pandit's list decides what the pooja needs. The decoration is how the corner looks to the family sitting in front of it, and in the photos, so a backdrop is worth it if a lot of people will see it.

Whoever you book, get what's in the price written down. "Pooja decoration" can mean one garland or a wall of flowers, so name the flowers, the size and the doors before you compare two quotes. Got a quote already? Send it to us on WhatsApp and a person here will read it with you.

Each price is what that decorator told us. From means it goes up from there. A photo may show more than the price covers, and many are from housewarmings and other functions at home. Party Choice quotes item by item, so his prices are a rough start. Photos: Mahinava Events, Dream Decor, Dream Party Link, Party Choice and Sankalana Decorations.

**Brass lamps and a petal rangoli go with any of these.** Lamps were in 17 of the 78 pooja requests to us, a flower rangoli in 6. Dream Party Link charges ₹600 to ₹700 or more for each lamp or brass pot. No decorator here lists a price for a rangoli on its own, so ask for one on the quote by name, with its size.

**You can do it all yourself for the price of the flowers.** Marigold, chrysanthemum, jasmine, banana stems and mango leaves for a door and the pooja corner come to about ₹360 to ₹1,105 at the market, by our sum. It takes a trip to the market and a morning of tying. A ready-made artificial marigold toran is ₹320 to ₹899 at Lamansh, and you can use it again next year. For a backdrop of your own, question 6 has a frame to hire and a stand to keep.

This guide doesn't cover housewarmings, naming ceremonies or Ganesh Chaturthi at home.

**Behind this answer:** [Mahinava Events](https://mytribe.in/mahinava_events) from ₹10,000 for basic marigold work and ₹12,000 for strings, a drape and two brass diyas, near Whitefield and outside festival weeks; [Sankalana Decorations](https://mytribe.in/sankalanadecorations) backdrops above ₹10,000; [Dream Party Link](https://mytribe.in/dream_party_link) a backdrop from ₹10,000 in artificial flowers and ₹20,000 in fresh, the idol extra; [Party Choice](https://mytribe.in/partychoice.in) flower work from about ₹15,000, and one quote for a floral mandap with a swing, made from a photo, of ₹35,000 in artificial flowers and ₹50,000 in fresh; [Dream Decor](https://mytribe.in/dream_decor_bengaluru) a Pichwai setup for ₹22,000 to ₹50,000 (March 2025), transport extra.

## Q2. Fresh or artificial flowers for a pooja: how much extra is fresh?

**Fresh costs more because the flowers are bought for your day: about 1.4 to 2 times as much as artificial, in the two pairs of prices we have.** Dream Party Link's festival backdrop starts at ₹10,000 in artificial flowers and ₹20,000 in fresh.

**Fresh costs more and needs notice.** Mahinava Events asks for 48 hours, and Dream Party Link a day or two.

| Decorator | Artificial | Fresh | For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dream Party Link | From ₹10,000 | From ₹20,000 | A backdrop |
| Party Choice | ₹35,000 | ₹50,000 | A mandap with a swing |

Each decorator's own price, given to us. Dream Party Link's is for a festival backdrop alone, from his Ganapati and festival list. Party Choice's is one quote for a floral mandap in naming-ceremony style, made from a photo.

Fresh gets you real flowers and their smell. It doesn't make the setup bigger: at Dream Party Link the artificial price and the fresh price are both for the backdrop alone. You keep nothing either way. A decorator's artificial flowers are the decorator's own stock, and you clear fresh flowers yourself.

If your family or your pandit wants real flowers at the pooja, go fresh only where the pooja touches them: the kalash, the garland on the deity and the door. The backdrop can be artificial.

## Q3. Do decorators charge more around Dasara or Diwali?

**Some do. Mahinava Events raises her flower prices for about a week around each festival. Dream Decor says its quote already includes any festival rise, and it won't change it later.**

**What goes up in festival week is the flowers, so ask what a festival week costs.** Dream Party Link's flower prices follow the market, so a quote he gives well before a festival may not hold. At Varamahalakshmi this year, chrysanthemum and jasmine more than doubled, and garlands cost two and a half to seven times what they had a week earlier.

| Flower market | Earlier | Closer to the festival |
|---|---|---|
| Marigold, a kg | ₹40 | ₹60 |
| Chrysanthemum, a kg | ₹150 | ₹450 |
| Jasmine, a kg | ₹500 | ₹1,200 |
| Lotus garland, each | ₹500 | ₹2,500 |

Varamahalakshmi 2026. Marigold is from Deccan Herald, 14 August 2026, which names no market: the usual price, then the price a week before the festival. The rest are KR Market prices from Asianet Newsable, 20 August 2026: the price a week earlier, then the day before.

This season, Ayudha Puja is on 20 October and Lakshmi Pooja on Sunday 8 November. At Deepavali 2021 a KR Market trader told Deccan Herald that people wanted far fewer flowers than at Ayudha Puja.

When you book, ask if the price holds in festival week, and get the answer in writing. If the budget is tight, use marigold.

## Q4. How early should I book a pooja decorator?

**Book a few days ahead, or a week ahead for a festival morning.** Dream Party Link and Mahinava Events do one or two jobs a day, and on a festival morning many homes want the same hours. Five of the six decorators here ask for four days or less.

**Only Decor Your Dreams asks for at least a week.** Dream Party Link needs a day or two for flowers, and Dream Decor a day or two for a small setup.

| Decorator | Notice they ask for |
|---|---|
| Dream Party Link | A day or two for flowers |
| Dream Decor | A day or two for a small setup. Three or four for a big one, and the same day generally not accepted |
| Mahinava Events | 48 hours for fresh flowers |
| Decor Your Dreams | At least a week |
| Party Choice | Two or three days |
| Sankalana Decorations | The same or next day, if he's free |

Each decorator's own terms, given to us.

For a morning pooja, Mahinava Events sets up the evening before or before dawn. A standard setup takes her two to three hours, longer for flowers. Dream Decor asks for four hours' access before the pooja.

- [Video: Dream Decor's team putting up a flower wall for a Satyanarayana pooja at a housewarming, from its own reel. If you want the setup up two or three days before the pooja, ask the decorator how long the flowers will last and what a refresh costs. No decorator we found says how long fresh flowers last once they're up. You could also go artificial on the backdrop.

Write the ready-by time into the booking, a couple of hours before the muhurtham.

## Q5. What does the pandit bring, and what does the decorator bring?

**Send the pandit's list to the decorator with a name against each line.** The kalash, mango leaves, banana stems and lamps are easy to miss or pay for twice.

**Ask your pandit what he brings, then split the rest with the decorator.** We found no pandit in Bengaluru who publishes his list, so ask him on WhatsApp when you book. The decorator brings the backdrop, the flowers, the torans, and often the lamps and brass pots. Ask whether you hire them or keep them.

Decor Your Dreams' Seemantham setups come with brass lamp sets, but without oil and wicks, so lighting them is up to you. Keep lit diyas clear of drapes and hanging strings.

**Who brings what, piece by piece**

![A mandap in a home garden with a roof of sunflowers, marigold and gerbera, a wall of the same flowers behind, green curtains, tall brass lamps, brass pots of flowers, four kalasha with garlands and offerings on a red carpet](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/rs:fit:1200:0/f:webp/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/e3cb2c45-0525-4184-89b3-bf66c755aa31)

1. **The flower wall and the roof:** Ask. The decorator brings these. Party Choice gave us no price for this mandap, so ask. Pick id: `piece:flower-wall-and-the-roof`.
2. **The kalash and the offerings:** Ask your pandit. Usually on the pandit's list. Ask him whether he brings them or you do, and tell the decorator. Pick id: `piece:kalash-and-the-offerings`.
3. **The tall brass lamps:** Starts at ₹600 to ₹700 each. Dream Party Link's price for a lamp. Mahinava Events brings her own. Ask who brings the oil and wicks. Pick id: `piece:tall-brass-lamps`.
4. **The brass pots of flowers:** Starts at ₹600 to ₹700 each. Dream Party Link's price for a brass pot. Mahinava Events brings her own urlis. Ask whether you hire them or keep them. Pick id: `piece:brass-pots-of-flowers`.

## Q6. Can I buy the flowers and just pay someone to put them up?

**Maybe. No decorator here has told us if they'd put up flowers you bought, or what they'd charge, so ask each one.** The flowers for a door and the pooja corner cost about ₹360 to ₹1,105 at the market, by our estimate.

**The flowers alone cost less than any decorator's price here.**

**Market flowers for a door and the pooja corner**

| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Marigold, 2 to 3 kg (₹40 a kg in a normal week, ₹100 in festival week) | ₹80 to ₹300 |
| Chrysanthemum, half a kilo (₹160 to ₹450 a kg) | ₹80 to ₹225 |
| Jasmine for the deity, a quarter kilo (₹400 to ₹1,200 a kg) | ₹100 to ₹300 |
| Banana stems, a pair (We found festival-week prices only) | ₹50 to ₹200 |
| Mango leaves, two bunches (₹25 to ₹40 a bunch, we found festival-week prices only) | ₹50 to ₹80 |
| **Our estimate, in all** | **₹360 to ₹1,105** |

Our sum, with amounts we guessed. For marigold, chrysanthemum and jasmine, the low end is a normal-week price and the high end a festival-week price. For banana stems and mango leaves, both ends are festival-week prices, the only ones we found. Marigold's ₹100 here is from Ganesha festival week, and question 3's ₹60 from the week before Varamahalakshmi.

KR Market, Malleshwaram and Yeshwanthpur sell flowers by the kilo. A florist near you will charge for the tying as well. Before you book hands only, ask whether the price covers stringing loose flowers, or buy them already strung.

If you do this every year, a folding metal mandap stand is ₹3,399 to ₹4,400 once, from Lamansh, an online shop that ships across India. Rent For Event in Bengaluru hires out a backdrop frame for ₹1,500 to ₹5,000 each time, delivered and set up, from a page dated June 2024.

## Q7. What should I ask before booking, so nothing is added on the day?

**Ask for one total in writing that names the size, the flowers, transport and who takes it down.** Dream Decor's ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 covers a door and torans. Dream Party Link's fresh backdrop starts at ₹20,000.

The two prices are for different jobs.

**Dream Decor, ₹12,000 to ₹15,000**
- The main door, and torans on two or three doorways
- Marigold, banana leaf and mango leaf. Ask if they're fresh
- A welcome board
- Transport ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 on top in the city
![A doorway in an empty flat hung with marigold: a yellow and orange swag across the top, strings down both sides and mango leaves at the corners](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/rs:fit:1200:0/f:webp/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/3b21b288-2ebc-4572-a2d4-cbfcd712febc) Photo: Dream Decor.

**Dream Party Link, From ₹20,000 in fresh flowers**
- A backdrop alone: the wall the pooja sits in front of
- Fresh flowers, bought for your day
- Extra: decorating the idol, and lamps or brass pots at ₹600 to ₹700 or more each
- No travel charge within 20 km of Wilson Garden

Each decorator's own price, given to us. Dream Decor's is from March 2025, and Dream Party Link's from his Ganapati and festival list. The photos come from each one's gallery and don't show these exact packages.

**Dream Party Link prices a flower job by four things:** the kilos of flowers, which flowers, how long the garland is and how much area it covers. A door takes a few strings. A backdrop like his covers a wall, so it's a much bigger job.

Tick what your quote names to see what it leaves out and what we know about each.

**Got a quote? See where it sits**

| If the quote is | What that is | Who is in that range | What to ask |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under ₹5,000 | Garlands, the mantapa alone, or flowers you tie yourself | A flower seller's garlands for the deity, the mantapa and the door, tied at your home: about ₹2,000 to ₹4,500, AI estimate; Market flowers for a door and the pooja corner: about ₹360 to ₹1,105, our sum; Hands only: none of the decorators here gave us a price, so ask | Does it cover tying them up at home, and who buys the flowers? |
| ₹5,000 to ₹12,000 | The mantapa and the door, or a simple backdrop | A small local decorator for the mantapa and the door in fresh flowers: about ₹5,000 to ₹9,000, AI estimate; Mahinava Events: basic marigold work from ₹10,000, near Whitefield and outside festival weeks; Sankalana Decorations: a flower backdrop, above ₹10,000; Dream Party Link: an artificial festival backdrop from ₹10,000, the idol extra | What exactly does it cover, and are the flowers fresh? |
| ₹12,000 to ₹20,000 | The door with torans, or a simple backdrop | Dream Decor: ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 for the door, torans and a welcome board, transport extra (March 2025); Mahinava Events: from ₹12,000, near Whitefield and outside festival weeks, for strings, a drape, two brass diyas and a simple backdrop; Party Choice: flower work from about ₹15,000, priced item by item | Which doors, how big is the backdrop, and does the price hold in festival week? |
| ₹20,000 and over | A backdrop, a print or a mandap, in fresh or artificial flowers | Dream Party Link: a fresh festival backdrop from ₹20,000, the backdrop alone, the idol extra; Dream Decor: a Pichwai setup, ₹22,000 to ₹50,000 (March 2025), transport extra; Party Choice: a floral mandap with a swing in naming-ceremony style, quoted from a photo at ₹35,000 in artificial flowers and ₹50,000 in fresh | Are the idol, the lamps and the pots in it? |

A clear quote names:

- **The size and which doors.** Ask. More area takes more flowers and garland, so it costs more.
- **Fresh or artificial.** Fresh costs about 1.4 to 2 times artificial, in the two pairs of prices we have.
- **Transport.** Dream Decor: ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 on top in the city. Decor Your Dreams: in the price, within 7 km of JP Nagar. Mahinava Events: in the price, within 10 to 15 km of Whitefield. Dream Party Link: free within 20 km of Wilson Garden, then usually ₹1,000 to ₹2,000.
- **Who takes it down.** Mahinava Events does it the same day, in the price. Dream Decor takes back what it brought and leaves fresh flowers to you.
- **Lamps and the idol.** ₹600 to ₹700 or more for each lamp or brass pot at Dream Party Link, and decorating the idol is extra. Ask the others.

The decorators' prices and terms are their own, given to us. Dream Decor's door and Pichwai prices are from March 2025. The AI estimates, the market flowers figure and the ranges are ours, and a quote on a line goes in the higher range. This shows where a number falls among these prices. It doesn't say whether a quote is fair.

The job the quote is for: the door and the pooja corner, a backdrop or mandap or putting up my own flowers.

## Q8. How much advance do they take, and do I get it back if I cancel?

**Most of the five decorators in the table take 30% to 50% as an advance.** That works out to ₹3,600 to ₹6,000 on a ₹12,000 job. Two of the five keep the whole advance if you cancel: Mahinava Events and Dream Decor. If the date might move, ask what moving it costs before you pay.

| Who | Advance | If you cancel or move the date |
|---|---|---|
| Mahinava Events | 30% | Not refunded if you cancel. If you move the date and she's free, the advance carries over. If she isn't free, half of it comes back |
| Decor Your Dreams | 40 to 50% | Not on file. Ask her |
| Dream Decor | 50% | Not refunded. Moving the date costs ₹2,000 |
| Dream Party Link | 50%. Sometimes he takes none if you push for that | No written rule. He refunds it if he hasn't bought the materials yet. If he has, what he spent isn't refunded. Moving the date is free |
| Sankalana Decorations | About 10%. The rest after the work | Ask what he keeps. The advance covers what he can't use again, such as a printed backdrop. If that costs more, you pay the difference. Moving the date depends on whether he's free |

Each decorator's own terms, given to us.

Pay by UPI and keep the WhatsApp thread, so there's a record of what you paid and what was promised. If you book through us, the booking comes with an agreement on what's included and what it costs, and if something isn't going to plan, a person here sorts it out.

## Before you pay, settle these six

1. The pandit's list, and who brings what
2. Fresh or artificial, flowers by name
3. The backdrop size, and which doors
4. One total, transport and take-down in it
5. Set-up time and ready-by time
6. The advance, and moving the date

## What Bengaluru families asked us for

Requests to mytribe, in our words.

- **A family in Uttarahalli, Jul 2026:** A Satyanarayan pooja in our flat on Sunday. **Just the entrance door and a mantapa** for the god, in flowers and mango leaves, simple. We'll arrange the pooja items ourselves. (Satyanarayan, Door and mantapa, Flat)

- **A family in Ramamurthy Nagar, Aug 2026:** A Satyanarayana Swamy pooja early on a Saturday in our flat. Just the pooja decoration, in fresh flowers, for a pooja area **about four to five feet wide, with a mantap**. We'll arrange the idols. (Satyanarayan, Fresh flowers, Budget about ₹10,000)

- **A family in Kogilu, Yelahanka, Sep 2026:** A backdrop for a Satyanarayan pooja at home on a Friday, about 7 by 7 feet, **with very few flowers**, simple. Setting it up on Thursday evening is fine. (Satyanarayan, Backdrop only, Budget ₹2,000)

- **A family in Sahakar Nagar, Aug 2026:** The pooja corner for Varamahalakshmi, and **a simple saree draping for our Lakshmi idol**. Set up in the evening, not in the morning. (Varamahalakshmi, Saree draping, Evening setup)

## Want us to find one?

**Doing this yourself takes a week.** You message ten decorators, many don't reply to a number they don't know, the ones who do send packages that don't line up, and Instagram only shows each one's best day.

**Tell us once instead.** We come back with the decorators who fit, each priced for your pooja, with their own past work. We already know them: we've checked their real work and their prices, and called their past clients, including about what went wrong. Only about 1 in 10 who apply get in, and every one is re-checked at least every six months. [How we verify](https://mytribe.in/how-we-verify)

Every booking comes with an agreement on what's included and what it costs. It's free for you. The decorator pays mytribe a small fee when you book, and you pay them directly, at the same price as going to them yourself. If something isn't going to plan, a person here sorts it out.

The same chat answers questions about the pooja itself, like whether a quote is fair. This guide is about Bengaluru; for another city, ask on the same number.

## More questions

### Will the decorator drape the saree on the idol?

Don't assume it. For Ganesha, Dream Party Link charges for decorating the idol on top of the backdrop. Ask for it by name, say whose saree and jewellery it will be, and get it priced separately. We found no one in Bengaluru who publishes a price.

### Can it go up without nails or tape?

Yes, on a freestanding frame, so say so when you book. Rent For Event hires out backdrop frames in Bengaluru for ₹1,500 to ₹5,000, delivered and set up, and a folding mandap stand to keep is ₹3,399 to ₹4,400 at Lamansh.

### Is a homam safe in a flat with a backdrop?

Keep the homa kunda and lit diyas well clear of drapes and hanging strings, and open a window. In a tower with smoke detectors inside the flats, tell the association first: a detector can't tell homa smoke from any other smoke, and it can set off the building's alarm. We found no Bengaluru rule on homa smoke in flats and no published safe distance. The fire service is 101, or 112.

### Can I bring my own decorator to the clubhouse?

Your association decides, and rules differ by building. Before you book the hall, ask the office in writing about outside vendors, entry hours and the service lift.

### Who clears the flowers afterwards?

Ask before you pay. Mahinava Events takes it down the same day, in the price. Dream Decor leaves fresh flowers to you.

### Will the decorator speak English or Hindi?

Not with every one. Dream Party Link speaks only Kannada or Tamil, and Party Choice's crew works in Kannada. Say which language you want when you ask us for names.

## Where the numbers come from

**Where the numbers come from**

- **Decorators:** the records of the 6 decorators above, from their own price sheets and terms, given to mytribe. Dream Decor's home and pooja price and its Pichwai price are from March 2025. Sankalana Decorations' prices are from a recorded call with us. Party Choice's flower price is where his quotes start, and he prices item by item. His mandap price is a quote to recreate a photo.
- **What each step costs across Bengaluru:** the price ladder in question 1 covers the city's whole trade, the decorators named here among them, and each range is rounded. The two steps without that label take in the prices those decorators gave us and what other decorators publish for the same work. The two marked AI estimate were worked out on 5 October 2026 from what comparable work sells for, checked against a sum of the parts. A flower seller's garlands: a door toran of 3 kg of marigold, two bunches of mango leaves and a pair of banana stems; two garlands for the deity at ₹200 to ₹500 each (KR Market, a week before Varamahalakshmi); 1 to 2 kg of marigold and chrysanthemum strung for the mantapa; three or four hours of stringing and tying; the trip and the seller's margin. That comes to about ₹1,900 to ₹4,300. The mantapa and the door by a small local decorator: 2 to 4 kg of fresh strings for the mantapa, a pair of banana stems, mango leaves and a garland for the deity, the door as above, a share of the drape, thread and hooks, two people for half a day with the stringing at about ₹1,000 a day each, the trip and the decorator's margin. That comes to about ₹4,000 to ₹8,500, and what small decorators sell the same work for sits higher, so the range is set at ₹5,000 to ₹9,000. For the backdrop step, an 8 by 8 ft banana-leaf and marigold backdrop comes to about ₹5,500 to ₹16,000 from its parts, before a decorator's margin. For the top step, a wall of fresh flowers that size takes 30 to 50 kg of chrysanthemum, ₹4,500 to ₹22,500 at market prices, before the frame and the labour.
- **Requests:** 78 Bengaluru requests to mytribe for pooja decoration, April to September 2026. The four request cards are written from what each customer typed to us. How many asked for each style is our count of the 78. A request counts for a style only if it names that style's flowers or pieces, and one request can name several.
- **Other businesses' published prices:** each business's own website, read on 30 September 2026. Lamansh for torans and mandap stands. Rent For Event for frame hire, from a page dated June 2024.
- **Flower prices:** Deccan Herald, 14 August 2026; Asianet Newsable, 20 August 2026; Hans India, 18 March 2026; Urban Acres, 12 September 2026, summarising a Vijay Karnataka report. Deepavali against Ayudha Puja: Deccan Herald, 2 November 2021.
- **Our own sums:** the ladder's two AI estimates and its other ranges, above; the market flowers for a door and the pooja corner, where the amounts are our guess (marigold, chrysanthemum and jasmine from Deccan Herald's normal-week prices at the low end and Urban Acres' and Asianet Newsable's festival-week prices at the high end; banana stems and mango leaves from Urban Acres and Hans India, festival-week prices at both ends); the advance in rupees.
- **Dates:** Drik Panchang's Lakshmi Puja timing for Bengaluru, and Karnataka's 2026 holiday list for Ayudha Puja.
- **Homam and apartments:** the National Building Code's fire chapter on smoke detectors; the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services for 101 and 112.
- **Photos and videos:** from the galleries of Party Choice, Dream Party Link, Dream Decor, Mahinava Events and Sankalana Decorations, some as stills from their reels, and Dream Decor's and Decor Your Dreams' own reels, all on mytribe.

**What we couldn't find**

- A pandit's own list of what he brings for a Satyanarayan pooja.
- A decorator's price for the backdrop, the door and the pooja room together.
- A price from a decorator here for putting up flowers you bought, or for a flower rangoli on its own.
- What a flower seller charges to string garlands and a toran and tie them up at home. The ladder's first step is our estimate, so ask for one number for the job.
- A price for draping the saree and doing the alankara on the idol.
- How long fresh marigold or jasmine lasts once it's up.
- Any Bengaluru rule on homa smoke in a flat.
- Decor Your Dreams' cancellation terms.
