Our practice is built on a continuous dialogue. Here is where we share our thoughts on the future of spaces, from sustainable building practices to the art of retail storytelling.

Our principal, Amit Arora, speaking at Kohler's PechaKucha event on "Sustainability in Design." He shared our firm's philosophy that every design choice, big or small, creates a ripple effect, and that responsible choices can transform design and enhance functionality.

Another shot from the Kohler Bold Art event, where Amit Arora discussed how sustainable choices have shaped our projects and our company values. He shared the stage with other industry leaders, contributing to an inspiring dialogue on sustainable design.

At the India Design ID symposium, our principal Amit Arora joined a panel discussion on "Designing for Wellness." The conversation explored the rationale behind wellness-centric design, a philosophy that is central to our practice at groupDCA.

In this clip from The Wood Couture Podcast, Amit Arora discusses the realities of sustainability in architecture. He argues that sustainability is not a trend but a mindset, focused on the preservation of resources and designing for longevity.

This graphic from our Independence Day campaign highlights our focus on creating spaces that connect local heritage with a global identity. The image features the vibrant, culturally-rich interior of the Khi Khi bar.

This image of the Ahujasons store was part of a social media post discussing the evolution of retail design. We framed the project as an example of how to balance heritage with modernity, creating spaces where culture and commerce meet meaningfully.

This image of the Primarc office was part of a throwback post discussing how the best modern offices borrow the comfort of home and the energy of collaboration. We designed this workspace to be focused, fluid, and deeply human.

About In the Press & On the Stage

When we share our work on public stages or in design journals, it is rarely for the sake of accolades. We treat these discussions as vital pressure tests for our design methodologies. Whether we are debating the limits of resource preservation in architecture or the programmatic clarity of a new retail store, this constant external engagement ensures that the solutions we bring to your project are rigorously vetted and grounded in current reality.

For nearly three decades, our work has been guided by a singular premise: architecture is a form of communication. When we speak at symposiums or contribute to design media, we are sharing the lessons learned from the actual construction of spaces.

We believe that architecture cannot claim to be sustainable while it continues to consume resources without restraint. Instead, we advocate for the preservation of materials and the mitigation of consumption through intelligent spatial planning. This philosophy manifests in our projects, from the adaptive reuse of existing structures to the creation of office environments that prioritize employee wellness through natural light and ergonomic flow.

In the realm of retail design, we view the store as a physical manifestation of a brand's narrative. Our approach avoids trend-chasing. We focus on building spaces where culture and commerce intersect, utilizing custom-manufactured joinery and rigorous material selection to ensure longevity. By maintaining this public discourse, we remain accountable to the standards of craftsmanship we set for ourselves, ensuring that every project remains relevant long after completion.

Amit and Rahul lead our studio, where we view every project as a conversation between the site, materials, and the people who will inhabit the space. We operate more like a collective of curious designers, debating every material choice until it feels right.
