Experience the depth of Hindustani classical music with intimate baithaks and jugalbandi performances, where every note creates a conversational dialogue between sitar and tabla.

A short clip from our sitar and flute jugalbandi performance in Bengaluru. The back-and-forth between the instruments is always a unique and beautiful conversation.

Performing at Timbertales in Madikere, Kodagu. This baithak-style show allowed for a very close connection with the audience in a beautiful, rustic setting.

A proud guru moment performing with my student Arjun on sitar and Karthik Bhat on tabla. This is what the guru-shishya tradition is all about, sharing the stage together.

A clip of me playing a vilambit gat in Raag Yaman. This slow, meditative part of the performance allows the raag's character to unfold gradually, which is perfect for an intimate baithak setting.

A classical duet performance with me on sitar and a talented artist on tabla. The chemistry between the sitar and tabla is the heartbeat of a traditional Hindustani concert.

This is how the music is born. Here I am teaching my own composition, a drut gat in Raag Yaman, to my students. This is the real taleem, the passing on of knowledge.

An announcement for 'Sammelan', a special musical get-together we organized to promote young talents and the beautiful culture of baithaks.

The poster for one of our 'Baithak' sessions presented by my school, Alaap Sangeet Sabha. We regularly host these intimate concerts to keep the tradition alive.

An announcement for a 'Guru-Smaran' concert in remembrance of Pt. Ramachandra S Jantali, where I performed a solo sitar recital accompanied by tabla.

About Classical Jugalbandi & Baithak Concerts

In a baithak-style concert, there is no barrier between the musician and the listener. Unlike a large stage performance, you are close enough to hear the subtle, precise nuances of the sitar strings and the tabla's resonant response. I often perform these sessions in living rooms or private halls, keeping the setting informal and focused entirely on the meditative quality of the music.
