Modern Bridal Jewellery Transformations
Your wedding is a story, and your jewellery should be part of it. I specialize in transforming heirloom pieces, like a mother's gold or a grandmother's necklace, into bridal sets that honor your past while celebrating your future.
A mother's love, transformed for her daughter's big day. We took an old Kundan choker and reimagined it as a complete bridal set, enhancing it with polkis, emeralds, and rice pearls to create a new heirloom.
This is one of my favorite bridal revamps. We took a traditional Kalighati set, which belonged to the bride's mother, and transformed it to perfectly match the bride's lehenga, balancing the yellow gold with intricate pearls and pasa chains.
For her wedding day, our London bride wanted to wear her family's history. We took her heirloom set and transformed it into a complete bridal masterpiece with a modern twist, creating a set that was not just jewellery, but generations of love reborn.
Our beautiful Punjabi bride, Simran, brought us her dadi's (grandmother's) Kundan set. We converted it into a stunning bridal set that perfectly matched her lehenga, proving that family heirlooms can be the most stylish wedding jewellery.
A client came to us with a traditional Kali Ghati set for her niece's wedding. We worked our magic to create a stunning, modern masterpiece that the bride was thrilled to wear on her special day.
For her daughter's wedding, our client wanted to give her old Chandan Haar a heavier, more regal look. We enhanced the original piece with Kundan elements and created a complementary choker to complete the wedding ensemble.
Dr. Sonal from Surat wanted a special piece for her daughter's 'Heritage & Heirloom' themed wedding. We combined her mom's pendant and mother-in-law's earrings into one magnificent necklace that beautifully tells her family's story.
About this collection
The biggest concern I hear from brides is about losing the sentiment of their family's gold. My process is non-destructive. We never melt your original heirloom pieces. Instead, we carefully dismantle, clean, and reposition the gold, weaving in new elements like polkis, Russian emeralds, or pearls to match your specific wedding outfit. You get a fresh, modern aesthetic, but the gold you wear is still the one your grandmother wore.
Whether it's a traditional 22kt gold Chandan haar or a heavy Kundan choker lying in your locker, these pieces often go unworn because they don't quite fit modern silhouettes. As a Jewellery Architect, I look at these items and see the design potential. We don't discard the old; we re-engineer it. This means preserving the soul of the piece while adapting it to your bridal lehenga or sangeet ensemble.
We handle everything from minor bead restringing to complete structural remodelling. I’ve worked with brides from Mumbai to London, using video consultations to sketch designs, select bead colors, and plan the layout before a single piece of gold is touched. If you have an heirloom set that feels dated, don't hide it away. Let's look at how we can turn that gold into a masterpiece you'll be proud to walk down the aisle in.
Gewels by Mona
Hi, I'm Mona. I don't just fix jewellery; I rewrite family legacies. I’ve spent 25 years listening to stories about Nani's bangles or Mom's wedding set, then sketching out ways to make those pieces fit a 21st-century bride. It’s personal, emotional work, and I take that responsibility seriously.
