Featured Jewellery Transformations: Old Gold, New Life
See how we turn forgotten family heirlooms into pieces you will actually love to wear. No melting, just reimagining.
For her wedding day, our London bride wanted to wear her family's history. We took her heirloom set, which was beautiful but simple, and transformed it into a complete bridal masterpiece with a modern twist. By carefully redesigning the original elements and adding new details, we created a set that was not just jewellery, but generations of love reborn for her most important day.
A client came to me with 14 pairs of old earrings she wanted to gift to her daughter-in-law. Instead of letting them sit unused, we combined every single pair into this one-of-a-kind statement necklace. Without melting a single piece, we created a wearable work of art that tells a story of family and creative transformation.
This project was a fantastic challenge from a client in Bangalore. We took a traditional 22-karat gold kambarband, or waist-belt, and completely reimagined it. It is now a stunning Navratna choker and matching bracelet, adorned with carved semi-precious stones and polki pieces, turning an unused heirloom into a vibrant, wearable treasure.
A client brought in her classic diamond necklace, and we gave it a dramatic new life. We converted the simple neckline into a striking side-piece pendant, set on a rich mala of deep blue sapphire beads. This transformation shows how a few thoughtful changes can turn a dated design into a smart, contemporary statement piece.
Can you believe this statement kada was made from two simple gold bangles? My client wanted to combine her old bangles into something bold and new. We merged them and enhanced the design with rich emeralds, contrasting motifs, and a delicate pearl border to create a piece that looks brand new and feels incredibly regal.
This is a perfect example of getting more from your memories. From one traditional 22-karat gold necklace, we created two completely new and distinct sets. The first is a modern choker set on a velvet base with carved stones, and the second is a long necklace using the original pendant, now enhanced with pearls for a heavier look.
It was an honor to work with this lovely mother and daughter from Singapore. They brought me a precious family heirloom: their grandmother-in-law's traditional nath (nose ring). We reimagined it into this fabulous, elaborate necklace, preserving its authentic soul while giving it a strong, modern design that can be passed down for generations to come.
About this collection
You might be worried about taking apart a precious family piece, but I never melt your gold. I carefully dismantle, reposition, and enhance your old jewellery using pearls, polkis, or emeralds to fit your style today. When you tap the chat button, just tell me what is sitting in your locker, and we can start sketching a new story for it.
What you see here is a collection of my favorite transformations—pieces that were once tucked away in lockers, now ready for a night out or a wedding. My work as a jewellery architect is about bridge-building between generations. I take a traditional 22-karat gold Kambarband from Bangalore and, by shifting the design, turn it into a modern Navratna choker and matching bracelet.
The process is straightforward. We do not melt your gold. We dismantle the setting, keep the metal pure, and introduce new elements like Russian emeralds, polkis, or fresh pearls to match your aesthetic. Whether it is an old Nath (nose ring) from your grandmother or 14 pairs of unused earrings, the goal is to create a piece that retains the emotional value of the original but fits your personal style.
I work with clients across Mumbai and even globally. If you are nervous about shipping your jewellery, I walk you through every step via video call to ensure you feel comfortable with the process. My studio in Gamdevi is where the design magic happens, but the service is designed to be accessible to anyone with a story to tell.
