Freestyle Dance Battles & Performance Highlights
This is where I connect with the music. See the raw energy of my freestyle sessions from battles, cyphers, and dance events around Bangalore.
A moment of pure house dance freestyle during a battle. This is where the training pays off, allowing me to just listen to the beat and have a conversation with the music through movement.
Celebrating International Dance Day the best way I know how: by getting down in a cypher. This clip shows the importance of footwork and flow in my house dance style.
It's all about the 'maza' or fun. This is me in a house dance battle, just enjoying the music and the energy from the crowd. This is the feeling I aim to create in all my classes.
Staying funky with some locking freestyle. Unlike choreography, battling is about spontaneous creation and reacting to the music in real time, showcasing the core techniques of the style.
A clip from a 'Houseful of Soul' event, a space dedicated to house dance culture. This is me freestyling, focusing on the connection between the music and my movements.
Another round from the 'Houseful of Soul' battle. Each round is a new opportunity to explore the music and express a different idea through dance.
The final moments of a freestyle round. It's about giving all your energy and leaving it all on the dance floor, a principle of passion and commitment I share with my students.
About Freestyle & Battle Highlights
Battling isn't about beating someone else, it is a conversation with the music. When you watch these clips, you are seeing me react to a beat I might never have heard before. That split-second decision to move, to lock, or to slide is the core of everything I teach in my studio.
Freestyle is the ultimate test of your musicality. It forces you to stop thinking about steps and start feeling the rhythm. Whether it is a House dance cypher or a Locking battle, the goal is simple: express what you hear. I have spent years training in Bangalore's street dance scene, from studios like Dhurii in Domlur to ARDS in Indiranagar, and these clips capture that journey.
Why Freestyle Matters
In my classes, we don't just memorize choreography. I want you to understand the 'why' behind the move. When you watch a freestyle clip, you see foundations in action—the bounce, the wrist rolls, the footwork. My goal is to get you to a point where you can walk into any club or jam, hear the music, and just go.
My Dance Styles
- House: We focus on the footwork and the conversation with the beat.
- Locking: It is all about the funk, the sharp locks, and the character.
- Hip Hop: We keep it raw, focusing on the culture and the roots.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your freestyle concepts, my sessions are judgement-free. It is all about the 'maza' (fun) and 'santhoshakke' (happiness). We break down the theory, discuss the history, and most importantly, get you moving with confidence. If you like the vibe in these videos, drop me a message. Let's get you on the floor.
