Signature Design Projects and Custom Furniture
We view space and furniture as a single design conversation. Here is a look at our core work, where structural logic meets raw, honest materials.
A complete living room set designed for the Nairy residence. The sofas feature an exposed wooden frame with delicate cane weaving, demonstrating our principle of structural honesty. The accompanying coffee and side tables use slender steel legs to create a sense of lightness, balancing the solid forms of the seating.
The dining area at the Nairy residence, featuring a custom solid wood dining table and upholstered chairs. The design emphasizes clean lines and material integrity, creating a functional and elegant space that connects seamlessly with the outdoors.
A detail shot of our studio workstation table. The slender steel rods are not just decorative; they are woven to represent the actual force diagrams of the structure, making the engineering itself the primary aesthetic feature. This is a core tenet of our design approach.
A large conference table designed for our studio's gallery space. The piece features a raw, form finished concrete top set on minimalist steel legs, showcasing our work with industrial materials for commercial and office environments.
An integrated bedroom solution featuring a custom wooden wardrobe with glass panels, a low-profile bed with a matching headboard, and a built-in window seat. This project shows how we design furniture to fit the architecture and use of a space.
The main staircase at the Nairy residence, designed as a key architectural marker. The structure uses a folded white steel plate for the stringer and solid wood for the treads, creating a minimalist and sculptural element that is both light and strong.
About Featured
When we design, we do not hide the structure. Whether it is a dining table with woven steel legs that function as a force diagram or a staircase designed to be the backbone of a residence, we let the engineering itself become the aesthetic. If you are looking for pieces that are more than just decor, we work with you to ensure every element—from the wood grain to the concrete finish—serves a clear purpose.
Our studio, based in Sanjayanagara, Bengaluru, treats furniture and architecture as two sides of the same coin. We reject the idea that design should just cover up a building's bones. Instead, we highlight the raw beauty of materials like seasoned teak, structural steel, and cast concrete.
Our Design Philosophy
Every project, whether it is a small furniture piece or a full-scale home like the Nairy residence, follows a specific logic.
- Material Integrity: If a table is steel, it looks like steel. If it is concrete, we embrace the form finish. We avoid veneers that hide the core or paint that masks the texture.
- Structural Expression: We often take inspiration from the forces at play. You will see this in our workstations where steel rods are woven to represent actual force diagrams, turning the engineering into the primary visual feature.
- Contextual Adaptation: We believe in reinventing traditional concepts. From adapting the courtyard house (totti mane) for dense city living to creating translucent gallery spaces that invite natural light, our work is always rooted in the specific environment of the site.
What We Bring to Your Space
We do not believe in one-size-fits-all furniture. Because we fabricate everything in-house, we can adjust dimensions, wood species, and finishes to fit your home or office.
- Homes: We design furniture that anchors the space, such as sofas with exposed wooden frames or integrated wardrobes that disappear into the architecture.
- Workspaces: We build workstations and conference tables designed for longevity and heavy use, utilizing industrial-grade materials that do not age poorly.
If you are planning a space, we start by understanding how you live, what bugs you about your current setup, and what you need from the new one. We iterate on sketches until the design feels right, then move to fabrication. We are always up for a design challenge if you want something that stands apart from standard retail options.
