Movement Therapy for Somatic Healing and Connection
Our movement therapy is not about learning dance steps. It is a space to listen to your body, release stored tension, and reconnect with your inner self through gentle somatic exploration.
In our Intuitive Body workshops, the focus is not on dance, but on the body itself. We tap into our physical sensations to find release and alignment.
We hosted an Intuitive Body Movement workshop for a corporate team, helping them connect with their inner selves through self-expression and find a sense of freedom.
The problem with trauma is that it can make us feel disconnected from our bodies. Our sessions use tools like release balls and guided movement to help you safely re-inhabit your body.
Flow with your body's wisdom. In our movement therapy sessions, we use partner work and group exercises to create a safe container for emotional exploration and release.
Our founder, Sahiba, leads a discussion during a movement therapy session. Sharing our experiences is a powerful part of the healing process in our community.
A smile of recognition and connection during an intuitive movement class. These sessions are about finding joy and ease in your own body.
A powerful moment of support and healing. Students use gentle touch and presence to help a fellow participant release tension and find grounding.
About this collection
In these sessions, we shift the focus entirely away from performance or technique. You are not here to learn choreography or perfect a style. Instead, we use gentle somatic movements, breathwork, and shared circles to help you identify where you hold stress in your body and how to safely release it. Whether you are working through personal trauma or just feeling disconnected from your daily routine, this practice offers a grounding, non-verbal way to process feelings that words often cannot capture.
Movement therapy is often misunderstood as dance, but at our Indiranagar studio, we draw a clear line between the two. These sessions are about somatic experience—feeling the body from the inside out. We do not look at mirrors because we want you to focus on your internal state, not your external reflection.
How We Facilitate Healing
Our approach is built on a few core pillars designed to make you feel safe:
- Somatic Awareness: We guide you through exercises that encourage you to notice sensations, rather than forcing specific poses. This helps in releasing physical tension linked to stress.
- The Safety of Circles: Group sessions are structured as circles where sharing is encouraged but never forced. This builds a sense of community where you know you are not alone in your journey.
- Release Tools: We incorporate props like release balls and tuning forks, alongside guided movement, to help calm the nervous system.
What to Expect
If this is your first time, you might feel a mix of hesitation and curiosity. That is completely normal. Our sessions are designed for beginners and those who have never considered themselves 'movers.' We facilitate a process of 'unlearning' the rigidity we pick up in daily life. Whether you join us for a group workshop or a one-on-one session, the aim remains the same: to help you inhabit your body with more ease, courage, and resilience.
We practice in a non-AC, naturally lit space with wooden flooring, creating an environment that feels like a sanctuary rather than a gym. There are no mirrors and no judgment—just the space to breathe, move, and find your own rhythm.
Flux School of Arts
We started Flux to create a space that feels less like a studio and more like a sanctuary. I believe that movement is the most honest language we have, and in these therapy sessions, we help you speak it fluently again.
