Growing food is more than just planting seeds; it is about working with nature. Explore how we use regenerative permaculture to build living, thriving soil.

A throwback to 2016 at our very first farm. This is where it all began, with a small group of us getting our hands in the soil and sowing the seeds for what Edible Routes would become.

The beautiful shades of spring at our Amarkanan Farm in Delhi. This is where we experiment, teach, and grow, offering a range of services from farmlets to workshops.

This video explains the concept of a banana circle, a permaculture design that grows bananas, composts waste, and builds rich soil all in one spot. It's a perfect example of a self-sustaining system.

A key part of my sustainable landscape design is water conservation. Here, we are creating swales and ponds on a site near Jaipur to catch monsoon water and recharge the groundwater.

Mulching around newly planted trees is a simple but effective water conservation strategy. It protects the roots, reduces evaporation, and helps the young tree establish itself.

My service for kitchen gardens helps you transform your land into a thriving agricultural space, using 100% natural methods and high-quality products to ensure organic success.

I help clients create their own organic havens in homes, schools, or offices. My land projects focus on setting up kitchen gardens to grow healthy, organic vegetables with ease.

I offer various farm experiences, from recorded webinars to weekly events in Delhi. These are designed to deepen your understanding of organic farming and grow your connection with the land.

About Our Sustainable Philosophy

Real sustainability isn't just a buzzword; it’s in the swales we dig to catch monsoon water or the way we mulch to protect roots from Delhi’s harsh heat. When you build a garden with us, we aren't just planting seeds. We are setting up a small ecosystem that recycles waste, conserves water, and gives back to the land. You will see this in the design of our banana circles and raised beds, where every element has a purpose beyond just looking green.

Building Systems That Last

Nature doesn't work in isolation, and neither should your garden. Our design process is rooted in permaculture principles—creating systems that require less external input and provide more output. Whether it is a small apartment balcony in South Delhi or a larger rooftop setup, we apply these core strategies:

  • Soil Health & Nutrition: We believe that healthy plants come from healthy soil. We use proprietary mixes of coco-peat, vermicompost, and microbial cultures instead of synthetic fertilizers. This feeds the soil biology, which in turn feeds your plants.
  • Water Conservation: In a city like Delhi, water management is critical. We install swales, contour-based layouts, and mulching strategies to ensure every drop counts. Mulching, for instance, mimics the forest floor, regulating soil temperature and reducing evaporation.
  • Closed-Loop Cycles: Our banana circle designs are a perfect example of regenerative waste management. These systems utilize kitchen waste and greywater to build rich compost while simultaneously growing bananas and companion plants like taro and sweet potato.
  • Succession Planting: We don't believe in empty beds. Our maintenance services focus on continuous harvesting—as soon as one crop is done, we prepare the soil and sow the next, ensuring your garden is always productive.

Why Permaculture in the City?

Permaculture for us isn't about rigid rules; it’s about observation. It’s about understanding the sunlight patterns of your specific balcony or the wind flow on your terrace. By observing these natural forces, we can 'jugaad' (find a clever solution) to grow food where most people think it is impossible. We want to show you that a windowsill or a small patio is enough to start your journey back to nature.

Edible Routes

Takes projects across India; Visit farm in Chhatarpur, New DelhiStarts from 450 per sq ft

I started this journey because I wanted to feel the soil under my nails again, not just read about farming in books. My team and I are here to help you turn a small balcony or a rooftop into a living, breathing part of nature that actually feeds you. Let’s get your hands in the mitti and start something real together.
