We believe in working with what you have. By respecting existing trees and natural contours, we create living spaces that feel like they belong to the land, not just built on top of it.

This is the ultimate expression of my design philosophy. By building around this magnificent tree, the home gains a unique, living centerpiece. This is the kind of harmonious integration I strive for in my sustainable landscaping projects.

Here is a simple yet powerful example of designing with nature. Instead of removing the tree, the wall was built to accommodate it, preserving the tree's life and creating a unique and interesting feature.

This modern home was designed to fully embrace the tree growing through its center. The large glass windows and open courtyard design make the tree a focal point from both inside and out, showcasing a perfect blend of nature and architecture.

A beautiful, gnarled tree provides natural shade and character for this wooden deck. My approach involves seeing existing trees not as obstacles, but as valuable assets that can define and enhance an outdoor living space.

This design cleverly incorporates two trees into a covered patio. Cutouts in the floor and roof allow the trees to grow freely, providing natural shade and a sense of being completely immersed in the garden.

Looking up through a skylight to see towering trees is a breathtaking experience. This architectural choice protects the trees while making them a dramatic and inspiring part of the home's interior design.

This image, showing a wall built around a tree trunk, is a testament to the principle that nature came first. It's a simple act of respect that results in a much more interesting and soulful garden design.

About Designing with Nature

When we say 'designing with nature,' we mean looking at what is already on your plot before we add a single pot. Instead of clearing everything away, we look for ways to weave existing trees and garden features into your home’s architecture. You might see us designing a deck cutout for a mature tree or building a garden wall that respects a trunk's growth path, giving you a space that feels like it has been part of the forest all along.
