Books at Earthlings are launchpads for adventure. We turn storytime into interactive play using puppets, props, and nature exploration to help your child connect words to the world around them.

Our story selection for 'Water Worlds' week included classics like 'Tiddler' and 'Sharing a Shell'. These books are perfect for introducing marine life and themes of friendship and community.

We love a funny story. 'I Don't Want to Be a Frog' and 'The Big Wide-Mouthed Frog' are guaranteed to get the giggles going while exploring themes of self-acceptance.

For our swamp theme, we explored stories about crocodiles and gharials. We deliberately choose books with diverse authors and illustration styles to expand our littles' horizons.

We have so many wonderful books about turtles. These stories, both fiction and non-fiction, teach children about life cycles and the challenges these amazing creatures face.

What lives in a shell? These books and the accompanying props help children explore the fascinating world of the seashore, from hermit crabs to starfish.

Exploring the vibrant world of coral reefs through books. The stunning illustrations in 'The Brilliant Deep' and 'Life in a Coral Reef' captivate the children's imagination.

A journey to the bottom of the sea. These books take us to the mysterious world of the deep ocean, introducing creatures like whales, dolphins, and giant squid.

More books about our frog friends. These life-cycle and story books provide a wealth of information and fun facts about amphibians.

From following water from a brook to the ocean to wondering why the sea is salty, these books encourage scientific inquiry and a deeper understanding of our planet's water systems.

Our library includes beautifully illustrated encyclopedias and nature anatomy books. These are fantastic resources for children to pore over, satisfying their curiosity about the natural world.

We pair every story with a 'story basket'—filled with props, puppets, or natural artifacts—to turn quiet reading time into an interactive discovery session. If we are reading about hermit crabs, you will likely find us hunting for shells or building sandcastles to understand their habitat before the book even closes.

Our reading nook is a cozy and inviting space for children to relax with a book. I carefully select age-appropriate stories that are displayed on a soft mat, encouraging children to explore them independently.9
I often take story time outdoors to our green space. Reading to a small group in a natural setting is a wonderful way to capture their attention and connect stories to the world around them.
