I put my heart into making baby showers and naming ceremonies feel special, whether you want something rooted in tradition or a bit more modern. What I Do for Naming Ceremonies
- I usually start with a custom welcome board, sometimes with a cute baby in a thottil (cradle) and your names.
- The backdrop is simple and elegant - white drapes, lots of fresh malli (jasmine) and marigold garlands, and a “Call Me…” banner for the name reveal.
- I set up a spot for the main ritual, with brass lamps (Nilavilakku) and all the traditional items you’d expect in a South Indian naming ceremony decor.
Baby Shower Vibes
- For valaikappu, I go for a rustic baby shower stage setup with jute textures, banana leaves, and a big, bold event name.
- The entrance usually has a personalized baby shower welcome board, sometimes with a caricature of the couple.
- Loads of yellow and orange marigolds everywhere, and a special wooden bench for the mom-to-be.
