Matching Outfit Sets for Sisters and Friends in Mumbai

Creating coordinated sets is one of the most rewarding parts of my work at my Dadar studio. When sisters or best friends come in for a fitting, I see a dynamic I get to help highlight through fabric and cut.

You do not need to choose the exact same dress for every girl. Often, the best results come from playing with complementary elements. For example, we might use the same mustard polka dot fabric but create a flutter-sleeve A-line dress for the younger one and a structured bodice with a sash for the older sibling. This allows their individual personalities to shine while still looking like a cohesive pair in photos.

• Size Consistency: I make sure the proportions for a toddler’s dress align with the design of a pre-teen’s gown, maintaining the same aesthetic flow across different sizes.
• Comfort for All Ages: I select breathable fabrics like soft cotton or mulmul for younger ones who need to play, while using lighter tulles or satins for older girls who might want more volume in their skirts.
• Personalization: Each girl can choose her preferred sleeve length or collar style, ensuring she actually loves wearing her outfit instead of just tolerating it for a photo.
