I don't believe in dance for the sake of applause. I believe in movement that actually says something. This lab is where I take a rough idea, test it against the music, and build it into a performance that’s ready for the stage.

A solo session where I'm just feeling the music. This is often how my choreography starts, with a simple idea and a desire to connect to the rhythm.

A late-night solo session in Mumbai. Sometimes I just need to get in the studio and move, even if I forget my own choreography halfway through. It's all part of the process.

Pushing myself with a solo to Tyla's "Safer." This is me working on my own stamina and performance quality, one choreography at a time.

The first draft of a new piece, "Shu-Shu-Shu," from my Pro Training Batch. This is raw footage of the initial creative stage before the piece is fully polished.

Getting back to my roots and just vibing to an old jam. This is a reminder of why I started dancing in the first place, just for the love of the music and movement.

A solo piece to "Ne Doute Pas." This is me exploring a smoother, more lyrical style of movement in the studio.

A solo run of my "Cocoa" choreography. This is my personal practice, refining the details and dynamics of a new piece before teaching it.

Another take on "Ne Doute Pas." I often revisit choreography to find new nuances and ways to express the music.

A work-in-progress of my "COCOA" choreography. This shows the initial steps and ideas that form the foundation of a new routine.

A solo exploration of the "COCOA" piece, focusing on footwork and musicality. This is the detailed work that goes into creating a finished product.

About Choreography Lab: Solos & Creative Process

This lab isn't about perfect, polished routines from day one. It's where we workshop ideas, test flows, and sometimes, yes, forget the choreography halfway through—that's all part of the process. If you want a 2-3 minute performance piece that feels real, come here to draft, refine, and grind until it hits right.

My creative process starts here, in the studio at IFBC Saket. Whether you're a solo dancer looking to find your signature movement or a duo prepping for a showcase, this is where we build the foundation. We don't just follow steps; we focus on texture, musicality, and how your body actually reacts to a track.

What we work on

  • Concept to Execution: You come with a vibe, and I help turn it into a routine. We’ll mix styles—Urban, Jazz, Afro, or Contemporary—depending on what the music demands.
  • The Raw Draft: You’ll see the messy stuff. We record, we critique, we tweak the angles, and we fix the lines. It’s not always pretty, but it’s how we get a piece that actually stands out on stage.
  • Discipline: If you're here to play around, this isn't for you. I expect focus. If we’re training, we’re training. Late arrivals might find themselves doing 50 squats, no excuses.

Why work with me?

After 20 years in this game, I know that 'perfect' is boring. I’m interested in your specific story and your energy. If you have that 'mujhe karna hai' (I have to do it) drive, we’ll make something powerful together. I’m available for in-studio sessions in Delhi NCR and can travel to Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Chennai if your project needs a fresh pair of eyes and some serious creative direction.

I'm Donny, and I’ve spent the last two decades treating dance like both a craft and a therapy session. Whether you’re training for a stage show or just need a routine that speaks your language, we’ll get it done—but only if you’re ready to put in the work.
