When I play for a Rueda de Casino or a packed social at places like Khar Social, I am watching the floor's energy, not just my console. If the crowd needs a shift from Salsa On1 to something smoother, I make that call in real-time. It is about keeping the connection alive between the dancers and the music, not just sticking to a pre-planned playlist.
My DJ style is built on a simple philosophy: I am a dancer first. This means I understand the exact moment a song clicks and the crowd needs to keep moving. I do not just play tracks; I manage the flow of the night, whether it is high-energy Salsa or a deeper, more soulful Kizomba set.
Why the Vibe Matters
Social dancing is a conversation. When I am behind the deck, I look for those moments of connection—the smiles and the sudden cheers when a classic Ray Barretto track drops or a rhythm shifts just right. My setup includes a Numark controller and Serato DJ Pro, which gives me the flexibility to mix on the fly. I also integrate live percussion—maracas, claves, or guiro—to build that organic, raw energy that recorded tracks sometimes lack.
How We Work Together
- Music Selection: I specialize in Salsa (On1, On2, Dura), Bachata (Sensual, Traditional), and Kizomba. If you need a mix of Rueda de Casino for a group activity, that is my specialty.
- Technical Requirements: I bring my own gear. I just need a solid PA system and an Aux/XLR input from your side to plug into the house speakers.
- Support: Whether you are an event organizer looking for a consistent vibe for your weekly social or a friend planning a private party, I handle the flow so you can focus on the people.
