About Bachata Grooves
The biggest hurdle when starting Bachata isn't the footwork, it is the rhythm. My sessions focus on helping you hear the specific layers of the music—the clave, the cowbell, and the guiro—so you are not just memorizing steps, you are actually dancing to the song.
Finding Your Groove
I teach both the modern, sensual style of Bachata and the footwork-focused traditional style. My classes are structured to help you get off the sidelines and into the social scene as quickly as possible.
How We Work
- Group Workshops: We host intensive sessions in Andheri (Studio ConRi) and Santacruz (The Community Studio). These are perfect if you want to meet people, learn clear lead-and-follow mechanics, and jump straight into the post-class social event.
- Private Coaching: If you have specific weak points—like off-time stepping or a weak frame—private sessions allow us to use video analysis to fix your technique. We can also tailor choreography for couples.
- Musicality First: You might notice this in my workshops. I use live percussion to show you how to predict breaks in the music. It is a game-changer once you stop counting '1-2-3' and start feeling the rhythm.
What to Expect
- No Partner Needed: We rotate partners during group classes so you learn to lead or follow with different people, not just one.
- Social Access: My workshops include entry to the Latin dance socials that follow. This is where the real learning happens. It is a friendly environment, and my goal is to make sure you feel welcome from your very first dance.
