About Behind the Decks
I don't just plug and play. My setup process involves a 45-minute sound check with the venue engineer to sync my Traktor controller with the house speakers. This ensures that when the beat drops, your guests get crisp, balanced sound without any technical glitches or mic feedback, no matter the size of the hall.

The Gear
I rely on professional-grade hardware, specifically Pioneer and Traktor controllers. These tools allow me to mix tracks seamlessly, create live loops, and adjust EQ levels on the fly to suit the acoustics of the venue. Whether it is an intimate house party for 30 people or a large outdoor festival in Bangalore, my gear is scaled to fit the space.
Why Sound Checks Matter
Every venue has different acoustics. A room with glass walls sounds very different from an open lawn. I prioritize arriving early to perform a sound check, which includes:
- Testing levels for speech and music.
- Checking microphone feedback.
- Coordinating with the venue's sound engineer to ensure compatibility.
- Preparing backup music drives so the music never stops, even if the main laptop has an issue.
My Approach
My job is to read the room and keep the energy high. If the crowd needs a shift from high-BPM Punjabi tracks to Bollywood remixes, my equipment allows me to make that transition smooth and instant. I am always hands-on with my mixer, watching the crowd and adjusting the beat to keep the dance floor packed.
