What you see here is the raw process of live mixing. It is not just about queuing the next song, it is about watching the dance floor, tracking the energy levels in real time, and dropping the right transition at the precise moment to keep the momentum going.
People often ask what happens behind the console during a set. To me, it is about staying in the moment. I perform on industry standard Pioneer gear, like the CDJ 2000NXS2 or 3000 series, because I need equipment that reacts as fast as I do. When I am mixing, I am not following a pre-recorded script. I am reading the room, observing the crowd's energy, and deciding on the fly which track will build the next wave of excitement.
My signature 'Blend Theory' comes into play here. I take the familiar hook of a Bollywood or Punjabi hit and layer it with the driving beat of Afro House or Techno. This keeps the music fresh for guests who want to dance, while still giving them the hits they love. Whether it is a corporate gig in Mumbai or a wedding elsewhere in India, the technical setup is crucial. I ensure the audio output is clean and the levels are balanced so that every beat hits home, regardless of the venue's acoustics.
