It is all about reading the room and knowing when to go deep or keep it light.
My musical range covers the energetic and the nostalgic. Techno sets are about the journey, often utilizing progressive tracks to keep a rooftop sundowner at places like Supernova or Altitude going through the afternoon. I manage the sound levels specifically for these open-air spaces to ensure the bass hits the right frequency without overpowering the conversation.
On the flip side, Sunday Retro Nights require a completely different technical approach. My focus here is on the transition between decades. Whether it is a 90s Bollywood hit or a classic pop anthem, I ensure the mixing is tight so the rhythm never drops, which keeps the dance floor moving. I bring my own professional Pioneer DJ console and connection cables, so I only need the venue to provide the sound system.
