Behind the Decks: A Look at My DJ Setup in Bangalore
You see the finished performance, but here is what happens before the lights go down and the music takes over at my Bangalore gigs.
'Sensation' at Raahi is always a massive Friday night. This promo shows the kind of energy you can expect when I team up with other top DJs like Shine HVK.
A simple and direct announcement for my Friday night gig at Sherlock's Pub in Hennur. Sometimes, all you need is the date and time to get the party started.
A candid shot of me in the zone, focused on the mix. This is my office, and I love every moment of it. Just me, the music, and the dance floor.
About this collection
It is never just about hitting play on a playlist. Behind every set I perform, there is a dedicated 90-minute setup process to ensure my Pioneer console, video feed, and sound levels are perfectly balanced for your venue's specific acoustics and layout.
When you book me for a club night like Raahi or a private corporate event, the work starts well before the first track. I treat every venue like a studio, mapping out the acoustics to ensure the bass hits the dance floor, not the walls. Whether I am prepping a standard audio mix or running a full Video Jockey (VDJ) setup with LED walls, my goal is to eliminate technical glitches so the music flows without interruption.
My approach varies based on the setup. For live 'Taala Beats' shows, I coordinate closely with percussionists to ensure the Djembe is mic'd correctly against the electronic tracks. For club gigs, I focus on reading the room, checking the crowd's energy, and selecting the right mix of Kannada, Bollywood, and Commercial hits on the fly. This behind-the-scenes preparation allows me to switch gears instantly—moving from a nostalgic retro set to a high-energy dance floor filler the moment I see people are ready to move.
If you have a venue in mind, I am happy to coordinate with your sound engineers beforehand to ensure we have the right output cables, console space, and power supply. My job is to handle the logistics so that when the guests arrive, all you hear is the beat and all you feel is the energy.
Nuthan
I am Nuthan, but when I am at the console, I go by VDJ Next Level. I started DJing in 2013, and since 2016, I have made it my mission to master the Kannada music scene in Namma Bengaluru. My focus is simple: get the energy right, read the crowd, and keep the dance floor moving all night long.
