Behind the Decks: My Journey as a Delhi DJ

From early days on old-school CDJs to high-energy sets at venues like Social, this is my story of music, crowds, and the hustle.

It's been a long journey from spinning on old-school CDJs in 2009 to the digital decks I use today. This picture is a huge milestone for me and shows my dedication to evolving as an artist over the years.

My mom still jokes that I should stop DJing, but seeing a crowd this happy confirms I'm right where I belong. This is my passion.

In my element, behind the decks. This is where I feel most at home, lining up the next track to keep the party moving. Ready for the beat to drop.

A candid shot of me focused on the music. I believe that with hard work, knowledge, and perseverance, you can achieve anything. This is me living my dream.

Someone's making a song request on the retro telephone at Social. I'm always listening to the crowd and ready to switch things up.

With my brother and fellow artist. The music scene is all about collaboration and supporting each other.

Focused on the mix during a New Year's Eve VDJ set. My attitude is to give my best performance every single time, combining both audio and visual elements.

About My Journey & Behind the Decks

You might see the final result on the dance floor, but the real work happens in the mix. I balance the energy of the room with the right track at the right second. Whether I am dropping a custom mashup at a private party or syncing visuals for a corporate night, my goal is to make sure your guests are feeling the music, not just listening to it.

My journey did not start on big stages. Back in 2009, I was struggling with CDJs, just learning how to read a track and keep a beat going. Winning the War of DJs at IIT Delhi in 2017 was the shift that pushed me to take this seriously. Since then, it has been constant hustle.

Today, I am an open format DJ, which means I do not stick to one box. I play what the room wants. If I am at a wedding in Delhi NCR, we are going deep into Punjabi bangers and Bollywood hits. If I am at a club night at Social, I am mixing House and Techno with vocals the crowd knows.

The big shift for me has been moving into VDJing. I realized early on that music alone is great, but if I can sync visuals to the beat, the impact doubles. I run my sets with Serato or Rekordbox, using high-quality video loops and music videos that play in perfect time with the audio. It is a full experience, especially for corporate shows where branding matters.

When you book me, do not expect a pre-recorded set. I am always on the decks, adjusting the tempo, dropping mashups I made in my studio that morning, and watching the floor. If people are sitting, I switch the vibe. If they are going crazy, I push it harder. Hila dia public ko is the only metric that matters.
