Every piece in this collection follows the traditional Mysore process: we start with a precise freehand sketch, apply gesso paste for 3D relief, and finish with pure 22-karat gold leaf. The Traditional Process
We honor the techniques passed down through generations:
- Freehand Sketching: Every piece begins with a detailed sketch drawn by hand, ensuring that the deity's expression is perfect before any paint touches the board.
- Gesso Art: We apply a traditional gesso paste to create 3D relief work, which gives the jewellery and arches on the painting their distinct, tangible depth.
- Gold Leaf Application: This is the hallmark of true Mysore art. We use pure 22-karat gold leaf, which catches the light in a pooja room, adding a radiant glow to the deity.
- Watercolour Detailing: The final stage involves fine-line detailing with poster colours and watercolours to define the features, clothing, and background scenery.
