About Divine Gallery: Lord Ganesha
Every piece here begins with a freehand pencil sketch, as I prefer to capture the deity's expression without relying on stencils or tracing. After the sketching, I apply layers of gesso paste to create a 3D relief for the jewelry and arches, which gives the gold leaf a unique, textured depth that feels different from a standard flat painting.
Mysore painting is a centuries-old tradition that demands patience and a steady hand. My process focuses on maintaining this sanctity, ensuring each Ganesha artwork serves as a meditative addition to your home. Whether you are looking for a small portrait or a large, intricate piece for your pooja room, the technique remains the same. I start by preparing a traditional board, followed by the meticulous application of gesso paste, a mixture that provides the signature 3D relief on ornaments and crowns. Once this paste dries, I carefully apply 22-carat gold leaf, which catches the light and creates the divine glow characteristic of this art form.
Because I create these paintings on request, you have full control over the size and the specific iconography. Whether you prefer a Ganesha seated on a lotus, accompanied by his mouse, or depicted with traditional forest elements, each detail is hand-painted using artist-grade watercolors. We do not mass-produce these works; every stroke is applied with 35 years of experience in mind. If you are interested in a custom Ganesha painting for your home, please reach out to discuss your requirements. I also ship these framed pieces safely across India, ensuring the artwork arrives in the same condition as when I finish the final gold leaf application.
