Lyrical Healing Walks: Mindful Nature and Poetry Journeys
we step outside to let poetry meet us where we are. join a slow, meditative walk through delhi's green spaces where nature and verse become a single, breathing experience.
The monsoon brings a strange tapestry of memories. This walk in Lodhi Garden uses poetry about rain to reflect on what this season evokes in us, be it affection, nostalgia, or grief. It's an invitation to listen to the pink noise of the falling rain.
We gather in Sanjay Van for a Lyrical Monsoon Walk, using poetry about rain and unrequited love as prompts. It's a time to immerse ourselves in nature and gently attend to the feelings that this musical season brings to the surface.
A moving glimpse into our Monsoon Poetry Walk. The rain, the quiet footsteps, the shared silence. We use the most musical poetry about the monsoon as a meditative tool to immerse ourselves in the healing atmosphere of Sanjay Van.
Trees are, as Hermann Hesse called them, 'the most penetrating preachers.' On this Lyrical Tree Walk in Lodhi Gardens, we use riveting poetry about trees as prompts to connect with their ancient wisdom, beauty, and resilience.
Did you know Delhi is the world's second most bird-rich capital? This Lyrical Bird Walk in Lodhi Gardens celebrates our feathered companions, using poetry to explore their majesty, mystery, and ecological importance.
Love, in its many forms, is a central theme in poetry. This Lyrical Love-Poetry Walk in Lodhi Gardens uses stunning verses on love and intimacy to explore the complexities of being together, inviting you to mirror one another's light.
Friendship is a lifeboat. This walk is a tribute to those connections, using poetry to reflect on the friends who walk us home. We explore the many shades of friendship amidst the calming presence of Lodhi Gardens.
Poetry has always yearned to be music. On this Lyrical Walk in Lodhi Garden, we explore that connection, using poems written in awe of music as meditative prompts to reflect on rhythm, silence, and creativity.
A letter can be poetry between two hearts. 'A Letter in Verse' is a forest-healing walk where we use letters and epistolary poetry from voices like Rilke and Dickinson as prompts to immerse ourselves in nature and the human longing to connect.
This poster for 'A Letter in Verse' features a portrait of a young Emily Dickinson. Her letters and poems serve as powerful meditative tools on our walk, helping us peek into the electric human desire to communicate and to love.
About Lyrical Healing Walks: Journeys in Nature
these walks are not about covering distance, but about lingering. we spend two hours in spaces like lodhi gardens or sanjay van, moving with intention rather than purpose. you will listen to curated poetry that reflects the environment—be it the monsoon rain or the wisdom of old trees—and use these words as prompts to pause, breathe, and notice what is usually invisible to the eye.
the method: forest bathing and verse
my work blends the ancient practice of shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) with the resonance of the written word. on these lyrical walks, the environment is not just a backdrop; it is a participant. by walking in silence or reflecting on specific stanzas, we strip away the urban noise and allow our senses to sharpen.
what to expect on a walk
there is no pressure to write, perform, or even speak. whether you are exploring poetry about climate change in sanjay van or listening to epistolary verse beneath the trees of lodhi gardens, the goal is restoration.
- the pace: slow and observational. we stop to read, reflect, and simply be.
- the prompts: i share poems that respond to our surroundings—the birdlife, the changing seasons, or the architecture of our city.
- the space: these are small group sessions, usually 10 to 20 people, ensuring that the quiet of the forest remains intact.
why poetry?
poetry is the queerest thing that happens to a culture; it is honest, non-linear, and capable of holding grief and joy in the same breath. i find that when we bring poetry into nature, we can access feelings that are often buried under the weight of daily life.
this is for anyone who feels that life is moving too fast. whether you consider yourself a poet or someone who never quite understood the art form, you have a place here. sabko jagah hai yahan (everyone is welcome here). come as you are—with a journal, a memory, or just the need for a moment of quiet.
