About The Bespoke Journey: Our Craftsmanship
I don't believe in one size fits all. When you step into my studio, we go through 2 to 3 trial sessions for every suit, manually adjusting the shoulder fall, sleeve length, and waist suppression until the garment moves naturally with your body. This is how we ensure the fit is consistent, whether you are wearing a classic tuxedo or a modern bandhgala.
The Dharam Ji Process
Tailoring is in our blood. Since 1978, the process in our Tilak Nagar studio has remained rooted in precision.
Fabric Selection It starts with the foundation. Whether you are looking for imported blends, premium Cashmere Lino, or classic pinstripes like Scabal, I guide you through the texture and fall of the cloth before we make the first chalk mark. The fabric you choose dictates the construction.
The Art of Construction We do not rush. Every jacket undergoes high-quality fusing and interlining to ensure the shape holds even after hours of wear at a wedding or reception. For our Indo-Western sets, we focus on asymmetrical cuts and drapes, while our suits and tuxedos are built with a focus on sharp lapels and structured shoulders.
The Trial Philosophy This is where the magic happens. A bespoke garment is not just bought; it is built on your body. In the first trial, we check the core structure. By the second or third, we refine the details—the rise of the trousers, the suppression of the jacket waist, and the fall of the sleeve. We don't stop until you feel that confidence boost the moment you put it on.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you handle last-minute adjustments? We prefer a 2-3 trial cycle to get it perfect, so please plan accordingly. I don't like to rush the tailoring process because a quick fix rarely gives the same result as a precise one.
Can I bring my own fabric? We prefer working with the fabrics we have curated and tested for durability and embroidery compatibility, but I am happy to discuss your preferences during a consultation.
