We believe interior design is a bridge between heritage and modern living. Explore how we weave traditional Indian techniques into your home.

A look at our material palette, where every texture tells a story. This video showcases some of the unique finishes we work with, including dyed veneers, textured pyrite, and intricate veneer combinations.

In the Kumar Residence, we began with an antique Kerala doorframe as a starting point. This element, full of stories, was paired with a contemporary armchair upholstered in a traditional blue and white pattern.

This living space features a Gond sculpture and cactus-shaped center tables. The design blends tribal art with modern forms, showcasing our ability to layer different cultural narratives.

A detail from the Modi Residence showing a hammered copper panel. This highlights our use of traditional metalworking techniques to create rich, tactile surfaces in our interiors.

A partitioning screen in the Modi Residence featuring Sanjhi craft, a traditional paper-cutting art form. We reimagined the floral details of the Taj Mahal in this contemporary application.

A wider view of the Sanjhi paper-cut screen, integrated into a modern partition with a live-edge wood shelf. This piece acts as both a functional divider and a work of art.

For the Bhasker Residence, we restored an old 'Chaukhat' from Kerala for the pooja room door. We combined it with sandwiched glass and fabric, and traditional Kerala lamps, to blend old and new.

A custom silver-finished sideboard designed to blend heirloom silver and brass with contemporary art. This piece from the Bhasker Residence showcases our skill in creating bespoke furniture that honors a family's heritage.

A detail of the Pinjirakari-inspired lattice work on the ceiling and walls of the Bammi Residence dining room. This traditional woodcraft creates an intricate, jewel-box effect, filtering light beautifully.

The dining room at 'The 42, Kolkata', featuring a custom sideboard with 'Thathera' work, a traditional hammered metal craft. This piece is a prime example of how we collaborate with artisans to keep heritage crafts alive.

About Celebrating Indian Craftsmanship

When we integrate crafts like Thathera metalwork or Pinjirakari lattice, we look beyond aesthetics. We consider the structural integrity of the base and how the artisan's technique responds to the light in your specific room. This is not just about decoration; it is about choosing materials that age beautifully with your home. Before you commit to a specific craft element, we recommend discussing the maintenance requirements of the metal or wood species with us, as these artisanal finishes require care different from factory-made furniture.

Our design philosophy is anchored in the belief that a space is a narrative waiting to be told. By integrating centuries-old Indian crafts into contemporary settings, we ensure your home holds a sense of history that is uniquely yours.

The Craft We Bring Home

We collaborate directly with artisan clusters to revive and re-contextualize traditional techniques.

  • Thathera Metalwork: We utilize this hammered metal craft for sideboards, consoles, and architectural cladding, ensuring each piece possesses a tactile depth that machine-made alternatives lack.
  • Pinjirakari Lattice: Our team designs these intricate wood lattice screens to filter light, creating jewel-box effects in dining rooms and living spaces.
  • Sanjhi Paper-Cutting: We reimagine this delicate art form as functional partitioning, blending floral motifs with modern spatial requirements.
  • Koftgiri & Inlay: We employ these inlay techniques in bespoke furniture, treating tables and cabinetry as canvases for cultural expression.

Why Context Matters

We approach every project with a focus on contextual design. If we are restoring an old Chaukhat from Kerala, we balance it with modern glass or steel, ensuring the old finds a harmonious place within the new. Our process begins with material exploration, where we select woods like kiln-dried Teak or materials like aventurine to ensure longevity alongside beauty. We invite you to view our portfolio of residences—from the Kumar to the Baid residence—to see how we balance these diverse elements. We are here to guide you toward choices that respect both our local heritage and the environment.
