About Elegant Buns & Updos
To get that volume that lasts, I almost always use micro-crimping at the roots and synthetic padding. It makes a massive difference in how secure your bun feels and how it holds up, even with heavy flowers or veils pinned in. I’ll make sure it stays tight from the first ritual to the final dance.
My Approach to Updos
When you're choosing an updo for a long wedding function, it's not just about the visual—it's about the hold. Whether you want a clean, classic aesthetic or a soft, romantic look with fresh flowers, the foundation is what matters.
- Root-to-Tip Prep: I use professional micro-crimping to create texture. This isn't visible in the final look, but it acts as a grip for pins and gives the hair the natural volume needed for a full bun.
- The Structure: I use high-quality synthetic hair padding (donuts or stuffing) to create the shape. This is especially important if you want a large bun or an intricate style that needs to stay perfectly circular or balanced.
- Floral & Accessory Setting: Fresh flowers like gajra, roses, or lilies add a lot of weight. I pin these strategically using invisible wires or secure pins so they don't wilt or slip out, keeping the aesthetic clean through hours of events.
Can I help with heavy accessories?
Yes. I regularly work with brides wearing heavy Matha Pattis, Jhoomars, or heavy veils. I ensure the structural support of the updo is strong enough to handle the weight without pulling on your natural hair. If you have clip-in extensions you’d like integrated for more volume, just bring them along, and I will blend them seamlessly into the style.
I travel to your venue across Mumbai, bringing my full kit, including bobby pins, setting sprays, and the emergency styling tools you might need once the event starts.
