About Modern Ponytails & Braids
I don't just pin your hair back. For a clean, modern ponytail or a structured braid, I use hidden tricks like micro-crimping at the roots for texture and synthetic padding to give you that gravity-defying volume. It’s all about making sure your hair looks as good at the end of the night as it does when you step out of my chair.
For these styles to really pop, the prep is everything. I start with a root-to-tip micro-crimping session. It sounds intense, but it is the secret to getting that perfect, long-lasting grip, especially if you are planning to dance the night away at your sangeet. If you are worried about thinning or just want that extra oomph, I use synthetic padding to build the shape of the bun or ponytail before we even think about styling the extensions.
Accessories make the look, but they need to be secure. Whether we are weaving in pearls for a soft, bridal vibe or using a statement diamond cuff for a cocktail evening, I make sure everything is pinned in so you do not have to worry about loose clips. If you have clip-in extensions, bring them along. I am an expert at blending them so seamlessly that no one will know where your natural hair ends and the extra volume begins.
If you are stuck choosing, think about your outfit neckline. High-neck blouses look amazing with a sleek, high ponytail that keeps your face clear. If you are wearing a backless design or something with a deep neck, a messy balloon braid or a textured low ponytail is usually the way to go.
