About Traditional Portraits & Events
When shooting traditional portraits, lighting makes all the difference. I use bounce lighting or soft external umbrellas instead of harsh direct flash. This keeps the intricate details of silk sarees and traditional gold jewelry crisp, ensuring your photos look natural and warm rather than washed out by flat lighting.
For traditional events like Gruhapravesha, naming ceremonies, or family functions, I rely on a mix of posed and candid coverage. Traditional Indian ceremonies often involve fast-paced rituals, and my experience allows me to anticipate these moments without interrupting the flow of your event. I know exactly where to stand to get the shot of the homa or the cow puja without getting in the way of the priest or the family.
I am particularly careful with group photos. Large family gatherings can be chaotic, but I manage the process patiently to ensure everyone is included and looking their best. I do not rush the subjects, which helps camera-shy family members feel more comfortable.
Regarding deliverables, I provide a mix of high-resolution JPEGs. For events, I focus on capturing the full story—from the candid laughs during lunch to the formal portraits on stage. I work efficiently to deliver the final edited set within 5-7 days for events, and 3-5 days for portrait sessions, so you have your memories ready quickly. If you have specific shots or family members who need extra attention, just let me know before we start.
