About Traditional & Ethnic Portraits
I don’t just capture the clothes, I capture the vibe of the tradition. Whether we are styling a shoot around a festive setup or using a heritage-style home for a classic look, I focus on integrating props and authentic surroundings. This ensures you don't feel like you are posing for a camera—you feel like you are simply living the moment, and that is when the best photos happen.
Ethnic wear holds a story, and I am here to help you tell it. My approach to traditional portraiture moves away from stiff, catalogue-style posing. Instead, I look for the candid interactions—the way a saree drapes while you move, a genuine laugh during a festival setup, or the quiet grace of a traditional setting.
Why these portraits feel different
- Contextual Framing: We use real environments. Whether it is a heritage-style property in Bengaluru, a garden, or your own home, the location is part of the image, not just a backdrop.
- Prop Integration: I encourage using elements that mean something to you—traditional brass items, festive decor, or musical instruments—to keep the energy high and the poses natural.
- Comfort First: If you are wearing heavy jewellery or a grand lehenga, comfort is non-negotiable. We take our time to adjust the styling so you can move freely, which shows in the final image.
How we plan your shoot
Before we pick up the camera, we chat about the specific vibe you want. Do you want a dramatic, moody, cinematic look, or something bright and airy for a festival? I provide guidance on styling, and if you need a professional makeup artist to bring the look together, I can connect you with my network. We aim to capture images that look like memories, not stiff professional headshots.
