I do not just recommend books, my students review them. Discover titles that actually get children excited to read, from early phonics basics to Indian mythology.

Time for a review! Listen to Vyan, one of my students, as he shares his thoughts on 'My Visit to the Dinosaurs'. Book reviews help kids develop critical thinking and their own point of view.

Here are some must-read books to introduce children to the magical world of Indian spirituality. From tales of Maa Durga and Lord Shiva to the naughty antics of Krishna, these stories are filled with wisdom and fun.

Exposing children to the right books at the right age is key to making them fall in love with reading. Here are some of my favorite titles that cover everything from humor to self-esteem.

Book review time! 10-year-old Prisha reviews an 'Awesome Facts for Potter Fans' book. My creative writing classes help kids improve both verbal and written communication skills.

A 9-year-old student reviews a book about the legendary cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. Analyzing books helps children form their own opinions and share them confidently.

Another book analysis by a 9-year-old, this time on Sudha Murty's 'How the Mango Got Its Magic'. It's a great way for them to practice summarizing and recommending books.

9-year-old Viaan reviews '365 Unsolved Mysteries'. This book is perfect for curious minds, filled with interesting mysteries about space, history, and peculiar phenomena.

Here are five reasons why I absolutely love Julia Donaldson's books. Her brilliant poetry, important messages, and rhythmic words are perfect for attracting early readers.

This year, I've seen so many parents wanting to teach their kids about Ramayan. To keep the curiosity alive, I recommend these beautifully illustrated Ramayan and Mahabharat books for children.

How do you answer when your child asks why Venus is the hottest planet? This encyclopedia of space is the perfect solution to answer their inquisitive questions and develop their reading skills.

About Book Recommendations & Reviews

Picking the right book for a child is not about following the bestseller list. It is about matching the book to their current spark, whether they are obsessing over dinosaur facts or asking why the moon changes shape. In my sessions, we do not just read. We analyze. My students review these books to tell you honestly if a title is worth your shelf space, not just a marketing blurb.

Building a reading habit starts at home, but finding the right gateway book is half the battle. Parents often ask me, 'Ruchika, what should I start with?' My answer is always the same: pick what makes them curious.

Why Book Reviews Matter

In our classes, we turn book reading into an active discussion. When a 9-year-old reviews a book about space or a biography of Sachin Tendulkar, they are not just summarizing a plot. They are learning to form an opinion, evaluate information, and communicate their thoughts clearly. These reviews are here to help you see through the eyes of a child, not a critic.

What We Recommend

We focus on a mix of genres that encourage critical thinking and empathy:

  • Indian Mythology: From Ramayan and Mahabharat stories to pop-up Ganesha books, we use these to introduce values and culture.
  • Science & Curiosity: Encyclopedias that answer the 'why' and 'how' of the universe, helping parents handle those endless inquisitive questions.
  • Early Literacy: Titles by authors like Julia Donaldson, which use rhythm and rhyme to make early reading feel like play rather than a chore.

Reading should be a ritual. Whether it is a daily five-minute bedtime read or a weekend session with one of our recommended titles, the goal is to make books a happy memory. If you are struggling with screen time or just looking for the next best read for your child's age group, have a look at the books we use in our workshops. If something catches your eye, let me know, and we can chat about how to introduce it to your little one.

I am Ruchika, and for me, raising a reader is about showing up and making books a part of the daily rhythm. I do not believe in forcing pages. I believe in finding that one story which makes a child ask, 'What happens next?'
