I turn photos of your favourite legends into hand-drawn portraits using charcoal and white stone powder. These pieces are designed for fan events, birthday tributes, and personal collections.

A tribute portrait of the late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar, known as 'Appu' to his fans. This artwork, made with charcoal and white stone powder, captures his warm smile and has been a meaningful piece for his admirers.

About Portraits of Icons

I do not use stencils. Every line is freehand, sketched using only charcoal and white stone powder. This method gives me the control to capture the specific expression in a reference photo, like the warmth in Appu sir's smile or the intensity in Virat Kohli’s gaze. It takes about 5 to 7 hours of precise work to build the light and shadow that makes these pieces look real.

When you commission a portrait of a legend, you are not just getting a drawing. You are getting a tribute. Whether it is a late hero like Puneeth Rajkumar or a current icon like Virat Kohli, the aim is to capture their spirit. I use crushed charcoal powder for the deepest blacks and high-quality white stone powder for the highlights. This monochrome style strips away distractions, letting the viewer focus entirely on the subject’s face and character.

I work from a reference photo, carefully mapping out the features to achieve 90 to 95 percent likeness. Because this is a manual, layered process, I do not rush. The charcoal creates a depth that prints simply cannot match. If you are planning a fan tribute, a birthday surprise for a superfan, or a public memorial, this art brings a grounded, respectful energy to the space. I have created these for events across Karnataka and beyond. If you have a specific icon or a loved one in mind, share the photo with me. We can discuss the sizing and how to best frame the piece for your event.
