Custom Celebrity Portraits & Pop Culture Art
I turn your favorite actors, musicians, and fictional characters into hand-drawn portraits. Whether it’s a gift or a tribute, I focus on capturing the exact expression and intensity of the subject.
My pencil sketch of Indian rapper Emiway Bantai. I captured his signature "finger gun" pose and energetic vibe using dynamic shading in charcoal.
A graphite sketch of actor Dhananjay as "Dolly" from the movie Tagaru. This portrait captures the intense and gritty character that made him a Sandalwood star.
My finished charcoal drawing of Tyrion Lannister next to its inspiration. It shows how I translate a character from the screen to paper, focusing on the emotion in their expression.
A charcoal pencil portrait of "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson. I used heavy shading to capture his powerful physique and intense, focused look.
A graphite pencil portrait of movie reviewer Jaby Koay. I enjoy drawing personalities from the online world who share a passion for film.
A color pencil portrait of Kannada rapper Rahul Dit-O. I enjoyed recreating his cool style, from the branded cap to the reflective sunglasses.
A great moment delivering my portrait to Rahul Dit-O in person. Seeing a client or subject's reaction to my work is the best part of being an artist.
About Pop Culture & Celebrity Portraits
I don't just copy a photo; I try to catch the specific energy of the subject. Whether it is a rapper's signature pose or an actor's intense screen presence, I use charcoal and graphite shading to bring that personality onto the paper. It is about capturing a feeling, not just a likeness.
When you commission a portrait, the first step is picking the medium that matches the vibe you want. I use charcoal and graphite on 200-300 GSM fine-grain paper for those gritty, high-contrast looks that work best for powerful character portraits or classic black-and-white tributes. If you prefer something vibrant, like a concert moment or a colorful pop culture scene, I use oil-based color pencils on heavy-duty vellum to ensure the colors pop and last.
Everything I create starts in my Arekere studio in Bengaluru. I pay close attention to technical details like skin texture and hair rendering through cross-hatching, which is why these pieces take time to finish. You will receive a high-resolution digital scan for approval before I ship it out, so you know exactly what is coming your way. Whether you want a framed portrait of a Sandalwood star or a unique piece of fan art to hang on your wall, I ensure the final output feels like a custom piece of art rather than a quick sketch.
