My Journey and Advocating for Adoption
From a corporate career to being a full-time canine coach, my mission is simple. I’m here to change how we see rescue dogs and professional training.
The slide says it all. I went from an MBA in Marketing to a happy Canine Coach. Following my passion has been the best decision of my life.
My first event where I had a platform to spread awareness about the "Adopt, Don't Shop" movement and the importance of hiring a professional trainer. A big thank you to WeWork for this amazing opportunity.
A clip from my talk at the WeWork "Adopt Don't Shop" event. I shared my story, busted some common myths about adoption, and showed success stories of rescue dogs who thrived with the right training and care.
About My Journey & Events
Many people hesitate to adopt because they fear rescue dogs come with 'baggage' or unfixable issues. Let me be clear, most behavior problems aren't permanent flaws but reactions to past trauma. With the right schedule and consistent training, these dogs adapt and thrive faster than you would ever imagine.
I spent years in an MBA and a corporate career before realizing my true calling was standing at a podium, talking about why we need to stop shopping for puppies and start adopting.
My talk at WeWork wasn't just about sharing my story. It was about busting the myths that keep good families from adopting. People think rescue dogs are aggressive or have health issues that can't be treated. The truth? Every dog, whether bought or adopted, has phases of behavioral struggle. The difference is commitment.
I’ve helped over 200 families and facilitated over 15 successful adoptions. In every case, the transformation happened not because of a miracle, but because the owner showed up and put in the work. Training is not an antibiotic course where you do five days and get fixed. It is a daily, lifelong routine.
Whether you are bringing a rescue dog into your home or trying to manage reactivity in your current pet, the principles remain the same. You need structure, you need to manage your own energy, and you need to prioritize safety over forced friendship. If you are struggling with a skittish dog or just want to set your new puppy up for success, let's talk about the real-world skills your dog actually needs to live a calm, happy life in Bengaluru.
