Community Work and Advocacy for Pet Parents

Being a pet parent is about more than just training. It is about understanding your rights, navigating local society rules, and fostering a safer, more empathetic environment for all dogs in our city.

I had a wonderful time speaking to students about the human-animal bond and teaching them how to safely interact with dogs. Educating children is key to creating a future where people and animals can coexist with empathy and respect.

There was a lot of confusion and fear around the proposed ban on certain dog breeds in India. In this video, I break down the facts to clarify that it was a recommendation, not an order, and explain what it means for pet parents.

Can your housing society ban you from using the lift with your dog? The short answer is no. This video explains your rights as a pet parent based on the Animal Welfare Board of India guidelines, empowering you to handle unfair society rules.

This is me with Puppy, a street dog I've known since he was three months old. His journey has been full of ups and downs, but his resilient and loving spirit is a testament to the incredible nature of our Indies.

This was Puppy as a young dog, shortly after I first met him. His story, from being a stray on the streets to being cared for by a community, highlights the importance of compassion and looking out for the animals in our neighborhoods.

About this collection

You have rights as a pet parent, and unfortunately, many housing societies in Bangalore try to enforce rules that contradict Animal Welfare Board guidelines. Whether it is navigating access to elevators or dealing with misinformation about breed bans, I am here to help you stand your ground with facts, kindness, and clear communication.

I strongly believe that being a pet parent goes beyond private training sessions. It is about being an informed, active member of our community. That is why a huge part of my work involves breaking down legal jargon and media misinformation, so you can advocate for your dog's rights with confidence.

Many pet parents feel intimidated by housing society committees or vague circulars about 'banned breeds' or restrictions on lift access. My goal is to equip you with the actual Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) guidelines, helping you transform from a worried owner into a well-informed advocate for your pet. When we know the rules, we can address unfair society policies effectively.

Beyond legal support, I spend time visiting schools and local communities to change the narrative around our Indie dogs. Seeing children learn to interact with dogs safely and with empathy is the highlight of my work. It is about building a future where dogs are welcomed, not just tolerated.

Fostering is another passion of mine. Helping puppies like Tobasco and Cider find their footing before finding a forever home is a vital part of what I do. If you want to learn more about your rights, understand how to support Indie dog welfare, or just want to join a community that truly cares about pets, let's talk.
