Puppy Placement and Professional Grooming for Working Dogs
Grooming for a high-drive dog is training, not just a bath. We combine professional puppy placement with a desensitization-first approach to grooming.
Shadow, a pup from our Constellation litter, came in for his first obedience and grooming session. We ensure the first grooming experience is positive, from the bath to the nail trim.
Yugen's grooming day at Paws & Perks. A clean dog is a happy dog, and even our toughest working dogs enjoy a day of pampering.
We have started grooming sessions at Paws & Perks. Our founder, Simran, ensures each dog has a positive and relaxing experience, desensitizing them to dryers and nail trimmers.
About Client Services: Puppy Placement & Grooming
When Simran and I groom a dog at Paws & Perks, we aren't just cleaning ears or trimming nails. We're running a desensitization session. Whether it's a puppy getting its first bath or a working adult needing a spruce up, we take our time to make sure the dog stays relaxed, not reactive. This is how we build the trust that keeps your working dog manageable and happy, even when they’re sitting on the grooming table.
Beyond Basic Care
Most grooming places just want to get the job done and move to the next customer. That doesn't work for working-line breeds. These dogs have drive, and if you stress them out on the grooming table, you’re creating a behavioral problem for yourself later.
At Paws & Perks, we use the same principle we apply to our PSA training: trust first. We desensitize your dog to the sound of dryers, the feel of the nail trimmer, and the sensation of being handled. We do this to ensure your dog learns to stand still and accept care without anxiety.
Puppy Placement: The Right Match
We don't just sell puppies; we place prospects. I vet every applicant because a high-drive German Shepherd or Dutch Shepherd from our lines needs a job. If you’re looking for a couch potato, we aren't the right fit. We temperament test our litters—like the 'Constellation' or 'FireArm' lines—to ensure the puppy’s drive aligns with your lifestyle, whether that’s sport, protection, or active family life. When you get a puppy from us, you get the lineage, the nerves, and the foundation we’ve spent years building.
Our Process
- Temperament Testing: We match the puppy to your specific needs.
- Early Exposure: Our puppies are introduced to surfaces, loud noises, and handling from 4 weeks old.
- Positive Grooming: We use rewards and patience, not force, to make grooming a neutral or positive experience for your dog.
