About Portrait & Figurative Henna
Portrait henna requires a bit more than just a quick sketch to get the likeness right. I need a clear, high-resolution photo to capture details like expressions and hair texture, so please have those ready when we discuss your design. These pieces take longer than standard floral patterns, so I recommend we plan for a session where you can sit comfortably while I focus on the finer details.
Portrait henna is where I get to experiment the most. It is not just about drawing lines, but capturing a feeling or a memory, like the face of a loved one or a scene that holds personal meaning. I have done everything from classic deity portraits for Karwa Chauth to quirky fan-art and anniversary tributes.
These designs are a collaborative process. If you have a specific face or scene in mind, send me the clearest photo you have. Details like hair texture, facial expressions, and distinct clothing items help me get the likeness right on your skin. Because of the level of precision involved, these pieces usually require more time than typical floral or mandala patterns, so we should plan our session accordingly.
I use my own organic henna paste for all my work, which ensures a deep, rich stain that makes these portraits pop against the skin. Whether you are looking for a full bridal piece that tells the story of your relationship or a small, meaningful doodle for a festival, I am here to work with you. My studio is in Navi Mumbai, but I travel across India for events if you have something special in mind. Let’s make your henna as unique as your story.
