High-Performance Mentoring for Serious Cricketers
Stop guessing why your action isn't clicking. I break down your biomechanics one-on-one on the pitch, fixing your technique until your movements are automatic.
It is always a pleasure to work with dedicated professionals. Here I am with Indian cricketer Rahul Sharma after a productive week of fine-tuning his bowling action and biomechanics here in Bangalore.
I often use simple analogies to explain complex movements. Here, I am explaining the "pro hop" to Rahul Sharma by comparing it to kicking a football. This helps a bowler understand how to use their momentum to drive their body forward.
Here I am demonstrating the correct leg flex to Indian cricketer Rahul Sharma. When you straighten the leg at release, the body automatically goes forward. This is a key detail for generating pace and momentum.
This is what one-on-one coaching looks like. I am physically adjusting a U-19 state cricketer's posture to ensure his upper body moves correctly with his bowling arm. You have to relax the body, or as I say, "relax karo body," to get the movement right.
About High-Performance Mentoring
We don't do general tips here. If your bowling action lacks power, it is usually because your body is fighting itself. In our sessions, I use video analysis to show you exactly where the breakdown happens, whether it is your hip rotation, your non-bowling arm, or weight transfer. We fix the motion on the pitch, right there on the wicket, until you stop thinking and start executing.
The Mechanics of Success
Cricket at a competitive level is not about guessing. It is about understanding the kinetic chain. When you work with me at the Brijesh Patel Cricket Academy, we focus purely on the biomechanics of your game. You might think your arm is high, but the video tells a different story. We bridge that gap by isolating the movement.
My Process
We start with a technical diagnostic. Whether you are a pace bowler or a top-order batter, we look at the 'feel' versus the 'reality.'
- For Bowlers: We check the hip rotation and the 'pro hop.' If your leg flex is wrong, your body isn't moving forward with the release. We repeat the drill until your body learns to move automatically.
- For Batters: We focus on the head position and the elbow. A solid foundation prevents common errors under pressure.
- Correction: I am on the pitch with you. I will tell you to 'relax karo body' if you are too tight, or manually adjust your posture. No theory, just practice.
Why This Matters
You leave every session with a specific prescription—one or two drills you can take home. If you are serious about playing for the state or aiming for the pro circuit, you need a repeatable action that holds up when the match is on the line. Stop training harder; start training smarter.
