Featured Workshops and Storytelling Events at Bond Over Bindings
Experience Jakkur's vibrant hub for bilingual stories, hands-on art sessions, and creative adventures where kids learn by doing.
Welcome to our world of stories! This is what it’s all about: laughter, learning, and making new friends. Watch as kids get lost in a puppet show, read together, and light up with excitement. Every event at my studio is a new adventure.
I'm Neha, the founder of Bond Over Bindings, and I get so excited about bringing amazing books to you! Here I am announcing our 'Hook Book Festival,' a delicious celebration of food-themed stories with incredible authors. My passion is creating these unforgettable literary events for your family.
Experience the magic of stories in Namma Kannada! This is a glimpse of our bilingual storytelling of Kuvempu's 'The Kindari Jogi of Bommanahalli.' I believe every child should hear tales in their own language, and we bring stories to life with performance, puppets, and joy.
Ready to create your own comic? Our comic-making workshop with the amazing team from Hallubol is always a hit. Here, kids learn everything from drawing characters to writing their own bilingual comic strips. It's all about unleashing their inner artist and storyteller.
Meeting your favorite author is a moment you never forget. We were so thrilled to host Arundhati Venkatesh for a session on her 'Petu Pumpkin' series. Our author meet-and-greets are a chance for kids to ask questions, get inspired, and connect with the minds behind the stories.
Discover the art of Kamishibai, or 'paper drama,' a beautiful storytelling form from Japan. I love introducing children and adults to unique ways of telling stories. In this masterclass, we explore how to use this magical wooden stage to create captivating narratives.
From making puppets to putting on a show! This is our World Puppetry Day celebration, where kids created their own dragon puppets and then enjoyed a magical shadow puppetry performance. Our workshops are all about learning through play and imagination.
Look at that focus! A quiet moment of creativity during our 'Doodle Summer Fun' workshop. I provide the space, the tools, and a little guidance, and the children bring their incredible imaginations to create their own masterpieces.
About Featured
When you walk into our Jakkur studio, you won't find rigid classrooms. Instead, you'll see kids sitting on floor cushions, hands covered in paint or clay, as we bring stories to life through puppetry and bilingual performance. It is all about giving children the space to get messy, ask questions, and discover a love for books that feels completely natural.
At Bond Over Bindings (or BOB, as our community calls us), we believe stories are meant to be felt, not just read. Our Jakkur space is designed as a home for this exact kind of exploration. Whether it is a Saturday morning bilingual storytelling session in Kannada and English, or a deep-dive STEM workshop, every event here is structured to be hands-on.
What You Can Expect
We shy away from lectures. Our sessions are facilitated by artists, educators, and authors who guide kids through creation rather than just observation. You might walk in to find a group building shadow puppets after hearing a story, or a cluster of kids sketching their own comic strips with visiting artists.
Why Our Community Loves Us
We are proud of the diverse, inclusive environment we have built. From Japanese Kamishibai paper drama performances to 'The Grand Chapati Contest' during our literature festivals, we mix global storytelling forms with local cultural contexts. Parents appreciate that they can join in at no extra cost, making it a genuine space for family bonding.
Practical Details
We are located in the heart of Jakkur, offering a shoe-free, cozy environment where kids can run, create, and be themselves. We host over 125 events annually, ranging from 60-minute drop-in sessions to multi-day skill mastery camps. Everything—from paints and glue guns to the books themselves—is provided. Just bring your curiosity and prepare for a bit of happy chaos.
Bond Over Bindings
I'm Neha, and I founded Bond Over Bindings to create a place where books mean more than just reading—they mean bonding, messy hands, and genuine giggles. Whether it is a puppet show or an author meet-and-greet, I focus on making stories come alive for every child who walks through our doors.
