Abhinaya is the language of the soul in Kathak. We teach you how to express narratives through subtle gestures and deep emotion, rooted in the pure Lucknow Gharana tradition.

A performance celebrating Janmashtami, where our students narrate the stories of Lord Krishna through expressive dance.

From our archives, a choreography titled 'Payal', which explores the anklet's role in a woman's life and the teasing banter it can create.

A humble offering to Lord Shiva. Our students perform a Kathak rendition of the Shiv Stotram, expressing devotion through movement.

'Bansuri', a Kathak performance that traces the journey from the sound of Krishna's flute to the silence of 'moksha'.

The most impactful 'abhinay' is simple and subtle, where the dancer becomes the character they are portraying.

A dance ballet named 'Chipichi', telling a story of a moon, butterflies, and a mischievous flower through creative choreography and expression.

A performance of 'Antakshari', where students playfully enact a 'kavitt' about Krishna teasing a 'gopis'.

A performance of 'Holi Dhoom Machori', a vibrant and expressive piece celebrating the festival of colors.

About The Art of 'Abhinaya' and Storytelling

Many dancers can execute technical footwork perfectly but struggle to breathe life into the story. In our Abhinaya classes, we move away from rote performance and focus on 'bhaav' (emotion). Whether it is portraying the playful banter of Krishna and the Gopis or the nuanced grace of a woman's anklets, you learn to embody the character rather than just mimic the steps.
