About Route Setting Courses
Why I Set Routes
Life mein problems toh milte hi rehte hain, but on the wall, I get to create them. I’ve always been fascinated by boulder problems, not just climbing them, but actually building them from scratch. For me, route setting is half science, half art - and honestly, sometimes just plain jugaad (creative problem-solving). This course is about letting you experience that.
What You'll Actually Do
- Learn the real basics of what makes a route fun and tricky, not just bolting holds anywhere.
- Dive into modern bouldering course methods - think dynamic moves, wild coordination, big volumes.
- Try your hand at the creative process. You get to set that one problem you always wanted to try.
- Use pro-level tools (yep, drills and all), and mess around with fancy holds from brands like Cheeta and Flathold.
- Figure out how to make routes work for total newbies and hardcore climbers both - grading is trickier than it looks.
Who This Course is For
If you love climbing, or you’re just super curious about what goes on behind the scenes at your gym, this is for you. No need to be a pro. Just bring your passion (and, honestly, a bit of patience).
Why Bother?
I want more people in India to know what route setting really is. Kuch log toh abhi bhi sochte hain ki holds bas chhipka diye (some people still think holds are just randomly stuck on). I’m here to change that, one new setter at a time.

My Story
Hey, Mani here. Climbing’s been a wild ride – highs, lows, all of it. Winning medals for India, like that first silver in LA, still gives me goosebumps. I’m the only Indian with five world championship medals in para climbing, and trust me, it’s not always smooth. But every comp, every win, every fall – it’s all part of the hustle. Still hungry for the next challenge, always.
