Managing a newborn and a dog in a studio is inherently chaotic, but it is exactly where the magic happens. I never rush these sessions, as we allow extra time for your pet to get comfortable with the studio smells and sounds before we even click the shutter. Whether it is a tiny Shih Tzu or a gentle Golden Retriever, I plan the poses around your pet’s temperament to ensure we get those calm, heartwarming shots without stress.
Including pets in newborn photography adds a layer of unpredictable, genuine emotion that staged photos simply cannot replicate. My HSR Layout studio is designed to accommodate this.
Why bring your pet?
Your pets are your first babies. Capturing them with your new addition creates a complete family portrait that tells the story of your home. These photos are not just about posing; they are about documenting the beginning of a lifelong friendship.
How I manage the session
- Safety first: My priority is always the baby's safety. I use posing techniques where the pet is nearby but supervised, or we use composite editing to ensure everyone looks perfect while maintaining a safe distance.
- Patience is key: These sessions, often spanning up to 4 hours, are entirely baby-led and pet-friendly. If the dog is restless or the baby needs a feed, we pause. We don't watch the clock.
- Studio Environment: My 1200 sq ft space in HSR Layout is clean, sanitized, and has enough room for your family, including your furry members, to move around without feeling cramped.
Tips for a successful shoot
- Burn energy: Take your dog for a walk before the session so they are calmer in the studio.
- Bring treats: I have a few tricks, but your pet knows your commands and their favorite treats best.
- Stay relaxed: If you are stressed, your pet will be stressed. My studio is a judgment-free zone—if the dog barks or the baby cries, we just work through it together.
