Shooting outdoors is where I get to see the true personality of the lahan chimukle (little kids). In a studio, they might be shy at first, but put them in a park with grass, trees, and space to run, and the giggles come naturally.

How I handle outdoor shoots

People often worry about Mumbai’s unpredictable weather. My policy is simple: paus aso or un aso (whether it is raining or sunny), we always get the results. If it is a bright sunny day, I scout for the perfect shade to avoid harsh light on your baby’s face. If it is cloudy or even drizzling, we use umbrellas or covered gazebos to turn the mood into something cozy and moody.

• Room to move: Toddlers who are just starting to walk or run need space. Nature provides that playground.
